1 Answer

Following a paper jam i have spent 2 hours picking out every particle I can see from the cutters. The 'paper jam light' remains on. What do you suggest ?

The machine is 5 years old but like new. Fellowes say it is no longer in manufacture @ they cannot supply spares!

Are you sure it's not the misalignment light that is permanently on?

Had paper jam which have cleared. Getting support code 6001 saying turn off and restart which we have done but still keeps coming up with same error

The 6001 error is a generic internal error code. Unfortunately, it could mean one of many things. To resolve the 6001 error, please follow the following steps:

1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord and USB cable.

2. Remove paper from the automatic sheet feeder (in the back).

3. Gently pull jammed paper out, if any.

3-1. If paper is visible from the ASF, use both hands to pull the paper out slowly.

3-2. If paper is visible from the paper output slot, use both hands to pull the paper out slowly.

4. If the paper tears and a piece of that remains inside the printer, open the printer cover and remove the paper from inside the printer.

5. Check ASF with a bright light to check for obstructions. Remove any if found.

6. Open the rear cover to check if the paper is jammed.

7. Pull out the cassette and check if the paper is jammed inside the cassette area.

8. Load paper back into the ASF or cassette.

9. Reconnect the power cord, turn on the printer and confirm that the Alarm light is off. (If there was any jammed paper remaining in the printer, the paper may be automatically ejected.)

Installed new maintenance kit for 9050 printer. Trying to reset page count and now the printer is jamming error code 13.02.00.

No relate with paper jam & page count resetting. Might be maintenance not installed properly..Remove paper jams, restart printer,if error 13.20 appears check some paper/paper particles jammed.. 1. Print from manual tray.
A. If paper is jamming, check registration assembly, clean it,best method for cleaning is vacuum cleaner in this area. chk..
B. Take out registration assembly, check clutch gears, driving gears, solenoids..
2. Check pick up rollers are properly installed in tray 2 & 3..
3. Check PIU unit for paper jams
4. Check Fuser sensor flags.
To reset the counter: Hold enter button & switch on the machine, wait till display shows cold restart, scroll to reset maintenance kit with help of arrow buttons & enter. Printer restarts & counter will become Zero..

Hello, I have a paper jam, but there is no paper jammed. I press ok, but the alarm light keeps on flashing....oh, what to do please? Thank you...michelle

You have probably missed a teeny tiny scrap of paper down in the bottom recesss of the printer.
Take a vacuum with a pointy ****** tip to clean the area. If that doesn't work, go to Radio Shack (or such) and get a can of 'canned air' and blow out the inside of the printer.
AVOID the temptation to use the exhaust of the vacuum to do this. (I am a trained copy repair tech) vacuums blow out miniscule particles of dust which will be distributed FOREVER on the inside of your printer if you use it that way.
The particle can be as small as an infant's fingernail -- but, search until you find it. I know it can be frustrating, I have spent a lot of time looking for tiny particles.
Next time you remove a jammed piece of paper, keep the pieces, and use them as a puzzle. Make sure you have the Whole piece of paper until the printer works again. This way, you will know the approximate size and shape of the piece you are missing.

Before you loose your mind, if you can NOT find any paper, do a reset of the settings on the printer. You may have to reboot your computer, also.

The error light on the Epson TM-T88IV keeps flashing whats wrong with it?

The following is from the Epson Users Manual:
Troubleshooting
No lights on the control panel
Check the power supply cable connections and the power outlet.
ERROR LED on (not flashing) with no printing
If PAPER OUT is on, the roll paper is not installed or is near the end.
If PAPER OUT is off, the printer cover is not closed properly.
ERROR LED flashing with no printing (and no paper jam)
Printing stops if the head overheats and resumes automatically when it cools.
If overheating is not the cause, turn the printer off, and after 10 seconds, back on.
Removing Jammed Paper
CAUTION:
Do not touch the thermal head because it can be very hot after printing.
1. Turn the printer off and press the cover open button.
2. Remove jammed paper, reinstall the roll, and close the cover.
3. If paper is caught in the cutter and you cannot open the printer cover, open
the cutter cover as shown in illustration J.
4. Turn the knob until you see a triangle in the opening. This returns the cutter
blade to the normal position. There is a label near the cutter to assist you. See
illustration K.
5. Close the cutter cover.
6. Open the printer cover and remove the jammed paper.
Cleaning the Thermal Head
CAUTION:
After printing, the thermal head can be very hot. Be careful not to touch it and
to let it cool before you clean it. Do not damage the thermal head by touching
it with your fingers or any hard object.
Turn off the printer, open the printer cover, and clean the thermal elements of the
thermal head with a cotton swab moistened with an alcohol solvent (ethanol, or
IPA).
Epson recommends cleaning the thermal head periodically (generally every
3 months) to maintain receipt print quality.

It sounds like your print head is overheating. Clean as instructed above.

Over heating light on, will not work. tried to unplug for an Hour still not working

Can you hear any humming? Blades or motor may be jammed. Can you get the top off? Most likely there is paper jammed in the cutter asm. You may have to manually turn the motor in reverse to pull the paper out.

Reset the printer with the following method that I searched on the Brother solutions website - took an hour of searching...
  1. Turn the printer off.
  2. Press and hold the Go button on the front of the printer, at the same time turn the printer power on.
  3. When the Toner light is on by itself, release the Go button.
  4. Push and hold the Go button again, release the Go button when the Paper light is on by itself.

The paper is constantly getting jammed in my hp psc 1510 printer

Ok...possible problems and solutions:

1. Most likely there is a small particle of paper still in the path which continues to pick at one of the new pieces of paper's edges and causing the new jam. Solution: check every crevice of the paper path for small bits of paper and remove.

2. the paper is too light for this printer. Cheaper paper is lighter in weight and typically will "ball up" easier with the action of the print head accross the sheets. This is why you souldn't use "copier paper" in your HP inkjet printers but it might be alright for the laser ones.

3. a previous jam has damaged (bent) one of the precision guides or parts in the paper path. Solution: buy a new printer.

4. the paper is too thick for this printer...(doubt this is the case but thought I would mention it) Solution: use lighter weight paper.

Printer says paper jam, but no paper is jammed

Check the following information.......
http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-printing-questions/Paper-Jam-Error/m-p/305772#M20513
or
most of the time for a paper jam, there is a QUEUE of papers waiting to be printed. id take out the usb cable via the back of the computer {the one that connects to the printer} go into the control panel, look for printers, double click on that, find the printer, it should say {working offline} right click that, choose the uninstall/delete opts. turn off the printer. reboot the machine, wait until it boots all the way up. take the printer, turn it on, then plug back in the usb cable to the back of the machine. if it is windows either xp/vista it will auto find the usb cable and install automatically. you can then go back to the control panel, printers and it should be listed in the directory. try to right click go to properties of the printer and do a TEST PRINT, should print out.
