SOURCE: oil in my tiller

Unless you live in a cold climate, ordinary 30W motor oil is fine. In cold climates, 10W-30 may make starting easier. You don't need expensive synthetic oil. Sounds like you want to take good care of your equipment. Tip: the air filter is a critical component in tillers since they work in dirt constantly. Check it regularly and change it when dirty. That will do the most to prolong the life of the engine. Good luck, and please rate my advice if you find it helpful, thanks!

How can we purchase a gear box chain for a Wolseley Merry Tiller, Serial No. T105738?

the chain will be standard construction and can be obtained from any power transmission retailer such as consolidated bearings (CBC) , bearing services or any other bearing retailer
all you will need is the pitch and width of the chain or the old chain as a sample
the pitch is the length of the link and comes in two variations (metric and sae)
one thing to be careful of is the wear of the sprocket teeth.
worn sprockets and new chain will give problems as the amount of wear on the teeth alter the pitch and that will make the chain tend to ride up on the teeth and jump
you may find that sprockets will also be available from the chain supplier

Atco manual

In the UK the Merry Tiller was produced by the Wolseley company until the 1980s when a change of company policy led to the manufacturing side of the business being sold off to Atco. Over the years the design had changed, making it more expensive to produce. This, coupled with changes of Atco's ownership and increased competition, led to the end of production in the UK.

Model# 110-503110/ Sears Washing machine, Ser.# 4045 Need to know what type and weight of oil to use in the gear box.

From everything I've read, top load, direct drive Whirlpool / Kenmore washers use a 80-90 weight non-detergent gear oil.

Most likely non detergent since some of the parts in the gearcase are plastic.

Following is the Whirlpool service manual for these washers that might help.$FILE/L-55.pdf
