SOURCE: Blown Subwoofer

did you manage to fix this problem ... i am afraid i might have made the same mistake. But I used a 220V-110V adapter that I have been using for the notebook. I dont understand why that doesnt work in the case of the speaker. Is there any way I can make it work again?

I Accidentally plugged my 125v sewing machine into an 230v outlet

None. "Accidentally" forced the plug into where it did not fit? Next time, ask a nearby 5 year old if they would do that: if the answer is, "YES." Then, do not do it. You just dead shorted 240VAC in your sewing machine= 120v L1 120V Neutral

Voltage change to 120V

You can change the plug out but I very much doubt that your toaster will even heat. The way toasters work is by a resistance wire that heats up because of the current going through it that causes the wire to heat up. Since the wire that is in your toaster is designed to heat up under 220V drawing 9 amps. SInce you are now supplying only 120V then since I=V/R then in the first instance 9=220/R or 9*R=220 =24.444 Ohms Since in the second instance your V=120 then your Current =4.9 Amps and this will not be enough wattage to heat up the wires.

We have a lioghtolier 600 volt dimmer switch talking to an HAI OmniPro and it stopped working. It has two other switches nearby and they work fine. The problem switch has no blue LED on when the light is...

Recycle the the dimmer switch and replace it with a new one. The dimmer switch was probably rated at 600 Watts. Therefore, 600 Watts/120 Volt which you house voltage equals= 5 amperes.
5 amps is the maximum current for the dimmer switch.

That means the voltage is 120V/240V with max current 5amp/2 1/2 amp. The HAI OminPro is drawing to much current and it's exceeding the the current limits of the dimmer switch.

Get a new dimmer switch that maximum current of 15 amps with 120 volt house voltage. That will fix you problem. GB....stewbison

Will my Logitech X-230 speakers work in a country with 220-240 V power outlets or would i need an adapter to use them there? If i connect them directly to the 240 V outlet, will they run properly or would...

Check the back of your sub to check your voltage range. You will see something like this: 110V-120V or 110V-220V. If you see the later, you are ready to go. If you see 110-120V only, you will need a power converter to power your speakers as well as any other 110-120V equipment. But no matter what, if it is 110-120V DO NOT PLUG DIRECT TO 220V!! It will blow your speakers. (I lived in Germany for 11 years.)

Blown Subwoofer

Hi , you will have to open the box and check for any fuses along the power input line, replace them if any and try it out but i strongly believe what happened there is that you fried the power supply in your subwoofer , there is no easy fix to this , you will need to replace the transformer and possibly check to see if the rectification circuit is damaged too, and the amplifier too. Good luck
