Recommend a washable lifetime filter that can be custom fitted for your unit. There are many different brands of cut to fit and custom sized filters available.
The original filters supplied with the unit are usually washable as well although the manufactures are not including it all the time anymore.

I need to replace the air filter on this unit and I can't find the right size filter. What size do I need? I ave an Armstrong model # 64HWC303a-2B Serial # 8401H12194

If it's a plastic mesh filter, you can buy an uncut kit at most home centers and hardware stores. That you can cut to fit your unit. You'll probably have enough left over to make 2 filters.

Filters for a rudd model # rkkb-a120cm22e

get a tape measure and measure it. lets say the size is 20" x 24". the filter size will be 23 1/2" x 19 1/2" why they do this i dont know.

if it is a real old unit just go to publix or walmart (publix is only in florida) and get one of those crappy blue filters that you hose out. you can cut it with sicsors and it fits underneath that crappy metal u wire.

if you have the unit i think you should just run the old blue "hog's hair filter" it sucks but so does your old unit.....

Changing Air Filter

In general terms an electric unit uses a 20 x 20 x 1 filter and a gas system uses a 20 x 25 x 1 filter. If the return filter is somewhere other than at the unit, it will very greatly in size. Its the descretion of the installer as to what size filter they choose to install.

How do I find the filter on a lennox G8Q3904 furnace?

If you don't have a filter "rack" installed then you have to remove the blower housing door. Usually the filter is there if it is not located in the house where the return air supply is. Some units have a filter in what is called a return air filter grill. If there isn't a filter already installed in the unit then you will have to measure the inside dimensions and then use one that is similar in size. It's not imperative that you use the exact same size. You just want to cover the opening of the unit. If you don't have central air conditioning, then it's not necessary to use a filter.

If it is a digital thermostat check the batteries and replace. If you remove the thermostat cover so you can see the wires, check between R & W and you should read a voltage differential. Same for R to Y and R to G. Your problem may be only related to the batteries.

The best way to find the size of the filter is to use a tape measure to find the size of the filter cavity. Remmeber, most filters come in even numbered inches, and you can buy a "cut to fit" at The Home Depot. Ask for "Hogshair".
