Correction Tape I replaced correction tape and machine will not correct. I removed the print wheel, put in a new ink cartridge, changed the correction cartridge twice just to be sure there was no defect. Machine operates but will not correct, I followed the manual everything is in properly.

Re: Correction Tape

I have the same problem, the correctional tape is white with the orange plastic pieces. When i hit backspace, it doesnt correct anything, it doesnt even make an attempt to, it just moves a slot back.

How do i replace th? correction tape n a wheelwriter 3

This should be a snap in cartridge just like the ink. Find the correction tape cartridge and it should just snap out and replace it with a new one.

try to see it in the sides or it might be in the bottom of the machine in some models remove the older and replace the newer.

Is there an auto correction feature

The key to the right of the spacebar with the "X" printed on it is the correction button. You just place the carrier on the character to the right of the wrong one and hit the corr. button. The carrier should automatically back up and and remove the incorrect character and if you hold the key down it will continue to back up and remove characters. then you just type in the right one(s). Of course you have to have good "correctable" ribbon and correction tape cartridges installed. If the tapes are old you may have to advance them by typing and correcting or by manually advancing them before they will work. If the correction doesn't remove all the ink from the paper you may have a bad ribbon and/or correction tape.

Install lift off tape cartridge

Remove the ribbon by pushing the blue lever to the right and front of the ribbon. The correction tape cartridge is attached to the bottom
of the Printing ribbon. Depress the center of Printing ribbon to release the correction ribbon. Snap on a new one.

Changing correction tape in model SL 105 I am attempting to put in a new correction tape in my Model SL 105. It appears to be moving, but I am getting no correction.

If the correction tape is moving and lifting there is a good possibility that the ribbon or correction tape are old and have changed composition or you have a non correctable ribbon.

Warning sound, didn't move

Check to be sure the correction tape isn't tangled in the print wheel. If it is or was check the wheel to be sure it isn't damaged,
Then try it without the correction tape.

Correction tape not working

The ribbons and lift off tapes both get old and change composition, get a fresh ribbon and L/O tape then try it.
