Question about Kenmore 43142 Front Load Washer

Not draining...not filling

I am not sure of the model but the model # is 110.46472501. It started with not draining prior to warranty. The tech came out and advised us to clean the trap as was suggested to someone else, but it worked for 4 - 6 loads and then all lights were flashing again. Second tech ran a diagnostics (1st tech did not) said it was the door door lock still having a problem so now they are ordering 2 computer panels. I am not too sure if they really know what is wrong and are trying to charge me as they are saying the initial problem was not warrenty related...but the machine is still lighting up with the same code...Add a Garment, Rinse and Clothes Clean. Any suggestions?

Blocked filters are not normally warranty related calls, however a reasonable engineer would turn a blind eye, the control module (pcb) can cause the door not to lock and create the fault that you have, insist done under warranty as on going fault. Regards Advisor

How do I drain the water from internal water tank on cuisinart ss700 ?

First, I'm not a Cuisiart Tech, but I have worked on commercial equip and similar table top machines. Call your vendor or MFR for help. Check your manual for "Storage" or "Shipping" instructions.
*** the following is for information only ***
* At work we had to test all these types of units prior to installing into a customer's location. In most cases it was not a problem to leave the water in the "Internal Tank Boiler" as it won't leak under normal conditions. Removing the water may also cause problems at start up. Air bubbles in lines, etc.
* Once in a while we had to send it via post office which requires liquids to be drained or protected with absorbent padding and placed completely in a water tight bag(s).
* Draining (if not explained by the MFR or in the manual) is tricky and requires the unit to be disassembled (voiding warranty) to get at the inner tank plumbing. Removing the hose at the bottom of the heater tank will allow the water to be drained. Reattach all hoses and leave a note that the machine has no water and needs to be re-initialized like a new unit from the MFR or store. Not following the pre fill instructions will cause an element burn out and ruin your machine.
* I've come across a youtube vid that gets you to the location of the tank (it's connected directly to the pump) but be warned that this is not for the faint of heart and will certainly void the warranty:

Brand new from day 1 can hear water go in doesn't seem to fill long starts wash cycle not even a minute then stops drains then shuts off

Call where you purchased it and have them send out a service tech. Most appliances are under warranty for a year from purchase.

Why won't my GE dishwasher get my dishes clean?

IF all appears to be working just leacing film on dishes or if not actually cleaning dishes there could be several things it could be... the basics to start with are first make sure the entering water temperature to dishwasher is a t least 120-140 degrees ... run water at sink prior to starting dishwasher.. next remove drain line from under sink and check for any obstruction where it connects. check the area under lower spray arm for trash/food build up and if you can remove spray arm and clean port out of any calcium build up... make sure the water is filling unit properly run a cycle and when you start unit listen when it stops filling open door and make sure it has enough water in it.

The door will not go to lock,I push the start button it will run for 2seconds,then it will stop and flashes pause, their is a small piece that broke off the bottom of the lock, but the door seems to shut...

these elctronic controls can become problems to troubleshoot sometimes. however the normal operation on this model when you power up is it will drainn first or try to drain any water left in bottom to make sure you have fresh water. then the door will lock prior to it filling with water... i would first try to look at drain pump and hose to drain and make sure no obstruction and that drain pumpp is working properly... if all looks good and your sure drain pump is ok then look at the door lock mechanism as it could have failed... repost with anymore questions ,but willing to bet the drain pump is the culprit...

Wash machine is draining while trying to fill up

Make sure your drain hose only goes into the stand pipe about 4" and secure it. If it goes in too deep a siphon will occur. Also make sure your stand pipe is not too short. It needs to be 18" above the trap or 30" above the floor. If it's less, then siphoning can also occur.

Error code

The unit did not reach it's full fill level after 10 minutes.
Check that water is not siphoning out as quickly as it fills. The drain hose must go up and attach under the counter top or go through a hole in the cabinet at, or near the counter top prior to connecting to the drain under the sink.
Also check that water is coming in at a sufficient level. Check the water shut off under the sink to be in the full open position. The screen in the water valve could be blocked, or the valve itself could be bad. If no water is coming in at all, make sure there is nothing (silverware) under the float. If not, suspect a bad valve.
**Remove power from the appliance prior to attempting any repairs.

Filling up with water

Jimbo, you are going to need a new inlet valve. This is very easy to change out. Remove the 3 torx screws in the back for the top. Slide it off toward the back. The valve will be on the inside top left. Two quick connect harnesses, a couple of hose clamps and your done. I don't have the part number on hand but you can find it on the tech sheet located behind the bottom panel. Three screws to take that off. Or you can go to, enter your model number and hunt it down from there. Once you change the valve, your leaking problem will be over. Catriver.
