Question about Samsung LN46A750 45.9 in. HD-Ready LCD TV
Horizontal jittery/shimmer white bars have suddenly appeared onscreen. Have disconnected and tightened all the cables including the PVR and have rebooted by turning off and back on as the manual has suggested to no avail... The TV is about 5 years old ..Any other ideas about what may be causing this problem as we'd hate to have to replace a $2600 outlay at this point?? Thanks ! Pattie

SOURCE: SAMSUNG LCD TV horizontal lines
causing of horizontal lines is leaky or defective capacitors. check big value capacitors around the board at Horizontal area. check the filter capacitor as well. good luck

I unplugged the TV and now the picture is back.I read that the LCD's are vunerable to static build up so unless my daughter is using her TV I unplug it.
I was thinking about getting a large LCD for the family room but I'm not going to until they improve on this technology.
Good luck to everyone!.

Wow, I've been an installer and salesman in the consumer electronics industry since before the first plasma TV came out (Phillips 42" and Fujitsu 42" in 1996) and this is the first time I've ever seen that kind of an answer. "Take this to a repairman and he can add more plasma" what is the repairman a doctor. If it were that easy no one would ever have to upgrade or replace their screens. You can't add more plasma to a screen, if you don't believe me call Samsung and ask them for yourself like I did. I was actually so dumbfounded by your answer that I called a tech friend of mine at Samsung and asked him, his answer; "does this guy work for you?" I told him no and he said, "I was going to tell you to fire him because that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard anyone tell a customer".
What you need to do is take you plasma TV to an AUTHORIZED Samsung dealer/repair shop and inquire about the hazing/ghosting problem with them. This should be repairable. It may be the LVDS Cable or the Main board problem. The only other problem is the T-Con Board.
