SOURCE: Water dispenser problem?

grandfunk, by your post, it sounds like the line is frozen over. You will have to do some tests. First rule out the dispenser itself. While someone is calling for water see if you have 120V to the water valve. If you do, we ruled out the dispenser. Behind the toe panel there should be a water line with a john guest fitting going up the door. Disconnect it there and call for water. Catch it with a cup. If the water is flowing there, you might be frozen up in the door. I have found a couple of these models with that problem. If it's not flowing there, behind the lower drawers in the refrigerator section is the water coil tubing. Take a hair dryer and go over it lightly. It could be frozen over there. Check these things first and post back. Catriver.

SOURCE: Amana refrigerator not running but light and water dispenser work

Hi, Remove the front kick plate at the bottom and locate the defrost timer box. You will see a hole and there will be a round switch you can turn. Turn in clock wise and see if the refrigerator starts.
If it starts, the timer needs changed. If it does not starts. locate the cold control (thermostat)
Check continuity on the switch. If it is the on position and the circuit is open, you need to replace it.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks
Vic

Door Panel Locked
Press Door Alarm and Freezer "-" at the same time, then release Door Alarm but continue pressing Freezer "-". You will see PE _ _ _ _.
Press Freezer "-" until PE # # # # shows on the panel.
Using Freezer "+" to move cursor, Refrigerator "+" and "-" to change numbers, bring all numbers to "0". Press Freezer "-" until PE and numbers blink. Unplug refrigerator for 45 seconds, never beyond 1 minute or you'll have to start over.
Look inside refrigerator door and locate the serial sticker. To the right of the serial number is the CODE ####. Plug in your refrigerator.
Press Door Alarm and Freezer "-" at the same time, then release Door Alarm but continue to press Freezer "-". Using the same method as above, enter the four digit CODE number you found on the serial sticker. Press Freezer "-" until PE and numbers blink. You have just reset your panel. Unplug for 45 seconds. Plug in refrigerator and you should now have full use of your door panel.
This unit has a built in safety timer mechanism. If it dispenses water for two minutes, it assumes it is flooding your house and shuts the panel down. If you are filling a pitcher of water, just stop dispensing halfway through to reset the safety timer.

Not dispensing water

Hello friend, I appreciate your inquiry!

I understand that your Frigidaire refrigerator is not dispensing any water and you have checker the filter and pressure. I would check to make sure that there is not a lock on your dispenser. Also, make sure that the house supply is turned on fully. I would check to make sure that your water line does not have a restriction in it. If everything appears to be working properly you might need to have a technician come and accurately diagnosis your refrigerator. Hope this information is helpful. -Matt

No water from dispenser Matag New filter solenoid valve working, tube to dispenser seems to be blocked

Hello Hans;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

There could be several areas that would effect your water dispenser not working:

1.) When you depress the water dispenser do you hear a 'Click'? If not you have a bad water dispenser contact switch.
I would send you a diagram but I do not have your model number.

2.) In the lower back of your fresh food section is your water dispenser water tank. At times this can freeze near the freezer section. Look in the lower corner of the freezer & your fresh food section for ice build-up.

3.) You could have a bad water filter. This does happen often. Remove the water filter and test you water dispenser.

4.) Do you have water leaking out of the bottom of your dispenser door? If so you have a split in the tubing in your water dispenser door.

5.) Is your ice maker working? Often the water valve to your refrigerator becomes plugged up and you do not get sufficient water pressure 60 PSI to operate your water dispenser solenoid valve.

Hello, I have a frigidaire side by side fridge and freezer ( LGUS2642LF2). Water stopped coming out of the dispenser and the ice cubes are coming out but is taking a very long time. I first replaced the...

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that you are having trouble with receiving water out of the dispenser area of your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# LGUS2642LF2.I also see that you have changed the water filter as well as checked and replaced the inlet valve with no positive results, other than it sounds like it wants to dispense water and makes a humming sound. I suggest resetting your refrigerator, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your homes circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Once power has been restored, try getting water out of the dispenser. If you are still having trouble, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your appliance and determine what the cause of your refrigerator not dispensing water. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Side by side dripping

There are several reasons why the dispener would dip. Do you have a filter on the unit and have recently replaced it. Then run a large pitcher or water through the dispenser to make sure all the air is out of the line. Anorther thing that could be happening it the water valve is not sealing properly and causing the dispenser to drip, In which case the valve should be replaced. One other odd problem is if the water tank somehow is not even and you have a little air bubble in it. Just some thinks for you to look for, hope one solves it.
