What are the tons of a RUUD AC HANDLER MODEL UBHA-17J11 SO SFFA SERIAL NUMBER MOO500 03485 and what type of CONDENSER & TONS CAN IT HANDUE WITHOUT PROBLEMS?

You can find the tonnage in the model number which increases by increments of 12, so if the model number is 24 =2 tons. Model number on your a/handler is 17. Thats a ton and a half. Really should match the evap and condenser for the best efficiency. ...

I need to know the seer number for an air handler. I'd

On the air handler take the top panel off, look to the left on the inside, this will give you general information on the unit on a stampede plate. This will
give you the date of manufactuer as well.

On the outdoor unit, there is a stamped plate on the
condensing unit. Should have year of manufactuer, it
should also say how many pounds of freon should be
in it. The Model number is what you need to know
to find out how big it is.

024=24,000 BTU= 2ton unit
030=30,000 BTU=2 1/2ton
036=36,000 BTU=3ton
040=40,000BTU= 3 1/2ton
and so on.

My guess is that it is an older unit and since I have
been installling units since 1995 I have only known
any older units to be at least a 10 SEER and no more.

Hello, I have a rbha-17 electric heat system. My

the orange or blue wire should go to the heat pump and energize the reversing valve and the compressor should be running when the heat pump is on. All it does is reverse the flow of refrigerant and pull btu's from the outside air and deliver them to your house. Check to see if your aux. heat is coming on with the heat pump. If it is electric furnace, this will help explain why your bill is so high.

Do you have 4 wires going to you thermostat and do you have an R and Rh terminal or R and Rc terminal on your new thermostat?
If so then you need to put a jumper wire from R to Rh or R to Rc.

Constance condensation on the frezzer department. Had GE service and all he did was warm up the rubber seal on the ice despenser door. But it still frezes up. There is no sign of condensation by the ice...

condensation in the compartment indicates that the door seal is not sealing properly or the door needs adjustment
it is from moisture in the air coming out of the air as the temperature cools the air down inside the compartment
problems that cause that are -:
opening the door too often
humidity levels high in the room
door seals faulty
door needs adjustment

not enough insulation in the door would only mean that the compressor is running more often or constantly but will have no affect on the condensation problem
