I was adding new wallpaper n ringtone to my phone yesterday and it just locked up. The menu screen was on there after it had made the changes. I tried all the buttons and nothing worked. Not even powering it down. I removed the battery per Verizon Tech support and all that did was shut the phone off. I turned it back on, at this point the on button or send button worked. All it did was "boot" up thru my greeting, showed my phone number and thats where it sits. It just keeps flashing my phone number. It wont go any farther. The only other thing I can say is it will use up battery power. I even tried charging it yesterday but to no avail. Thank you for your time.
If you have a memory card in your phone, try taking it out and then turning it on. Sometimes if you have to much on your card it will freeze up. Never store anything directly to a memory card in your phone.
Try putting into flash mode...press and hold the * # and power button all at the same time until you see text come up on the screen. If you get the text on the screen, pull the battery out, press the power button three or four times to discharge the phone completely and then try the battery again and hold the power button for 8 seconds or until the blue in the kaypad gives a slight flash dim then bright...good luck!

I have the same problem of dark screen, lighted keypads, and frozen buttons....
The best solution, not to bother and never again buy a Motorola product. That is it for me.

I have the same problem here. except it only shows up to flash VERIZON WIRELESS. then jsut freezes. is there any other way of fixing?

then right when it reaches there, it flashes then freezes up.
sometimes i'm atleast able to dial a full number but then it freezes as it's connecting.
even when i try to charge it, it still fails to do so.
i don't know what to do, i don't think i have a warranty on it.
and i most deffinately do not have the money to go out and buy a completely new phone.
what do i do !?!?

Mine has froze before so i let it set for a month and it worked fine again however during the time it was sitting i had deleted alot of pics and stuff from it using p2k tools so my guess is once you get them full they freeze weather or not you even have a memory stick, get the memory on a razr phone full and youve got problems delete some things and it will work again in 90% of the cases.
My phone did the same thing last night.
All I did was let it rest through the whole night.
AND THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well thanks alot i was going to to buy a gold t-mobile motorazr xx the new luxurious one it says it freezes a lil i thought maybe i shouldnt get it than i started looking around on the web and its VERY common for it to freeze up so i probz will buy it...

My v3m does the same thing, it boots up then goes thru the greeting then feezes ive tried tsking the memory card out and the battery but nothing has worked if you have an suggestions please post. thanks.
My Issue is as follows: I was talking on it and it dropped the call, when I went to reconnect the phone was frozen. I pushed the button to power down and got no response so I removed the battery. Using the power on/off the phone came on and the "hello moto" screen comes on and then the ( sprint) logo screen appears goes through its motions and that is where it freezes again, every time. It will not load to the menu screen. every once in a while it will act like its trying to load the next screen, but all attemps fail. Thinking it was a software issue I took it to the tech facility and they loaded updated software but it didn't work. they handed it back to me with a puzzled look on thier face and told me all they could do was sell me another razr. To power down takes removal of the battery only, the button no matter how long you hold it will not power down the phone, but will always without fail power it on. Any help on this would be appreciated, so much for warranties and the such. I bought this phone new from the store and this happened 5 wks after I bought it and basically no one has an answer as to the issue or the solution.....please help.
My V3 will not boot past the opening screen, not even sound! I can get to the "* and #" screen and only have acess to the power reset button. I am OK with getting a new phone but I have alot of contcats and photos I would like to get off of the phone. The funny thing is that I had tried to use the bluetooth and it did not find any devices, then the next day I noticed that the time had jumped ahead six hours then twenty four hours later the phone was off and would not start. I tried direct charger both car and home, also a different battery. Iam 20 days past my one year!
Does anyone have any ideas, on how to get the information offof this thing? I have another Razr that I can place any parts into....

I have kind of the same problem... It boots up then it flashes once and none of the buttons work and its completely frozen. Occasionally it works but in the end it flashes and freezes. I have gotten as far to do the master reset but that didnt work, and removing the memory card didnt work... Help!
