This may or may not help, but I have a Salton Wine Cellar, model: WC-2034. I purchased it almost 3 years ago, after approx 2 years, it stopped working (ie: remaining cool). The store I purchased it from closed down, and warranty was over for the unit. Salton was unable to help, but referred me to another company locally that could fix it. I contacted them, but they said it wouldn't be worthwhile to fix it, as the costs would be close to that of a new unit.

It seemed terrible to throw this entire unit away, but we weren't left with a choice.

I was close to finally getting removing the unit, when I figured I'd take a look at it. Please keep in mind this MAY NOT be the same as the unit you have.

On the back of my unit (WC-2034) there is a fan behind a metal enclosure. I unscrewed this enclosure.

There was a HEAVY amount of dust collected on the fan. (THE PROBLEM!)

The fan is screwed onto a heatsink by 4 screws. I used a vacuum and removed what dust I could, then I removed the fan by taking off the 4 screws. There is another mount that covers a portion of the heatsink. It is held on by 4 screws. I removed this, and was now able to vacuum out a huge amount of the dust collected inside of the heatsink. I also vacuumed the backside of the fan, and pretty much anywhere else there was dust collected.

I screwed everything back together, and placed some cold cans of pop from my fridge into the wine cellar and turned it on.

Noticeable I noticed the temp dropping on the unit. After testing it all day today, I have only been able to get the temp to drop to a min of 8C but that is MUCH better than what it was able to. I don't need it any colder then that, and I'm glad I didn't have to fill up our landfills with this, by only doing 10 mins of work. Hopefully this helps others out!

What to do if cooler is beeping and blinking LL it is a wine enthusiast dual zone model # BU-428D-X

Before you replace that wine cooler, consider repairing your wine cooler. Wine coolers have an average lifespan of 9-13 years and can cost anywhere from $150-$2000 to replace.

My dual zone wine cooler stopped cooling. Power is good and fan is working.

Fan is wired separately from the cooling unit. you may have a wire corrosion issue. take put the shelves, disassemble the back of the unit from the inside and observe the wiring to see if there are broken or corroded wires/connections. R/R if necessary.

Top unit won't cool

Usually with thermoelectrics they either work or they dont. Not easily repairable unless you are a competent technician as the components need metering. Sounds like a heater element gone.

If I want to store both red and white wines, what is the best way to store them?

I also had the same indecision and finally I've purchased a dual zone wine cooler. The dual zone wine cooler allowed me to maintain two distinct and separated temperature zones within the same cooler which was exactly what is was looking for, and I think this is the optimal solution for you as well.

What is a single zone wine cooler?

Single zone wine coolers have one temperature control and the storage space is undivided so the whole cooler is at the same temperature.

Are red wines stored on the top or bottom of the Haier BC112G wine cooler? How about white wine? Have lost my owners manual and don't know where to put red wine when the temp is set cooler for white wine

http://www.haieramerica.com/en/asset/archived/BC112G.pdf
is the link to your manual.Typically in a dual temperature zone wine cooler whites are stored in the bottom and reds on top as whites are better a little colder and the cold air will drop to the bottom of the unit.
Hope this helps!
