SOURCE: I have carrier infinity 18
Carrier carries a 5 yr parts warranty.I'm not a big Carrier guy but the are not an inferior product from what I've seen.I'd contact another company that is a Carrier dealer for a second opinion.

It is unfortunate that Carrier is failing to stand behind their unit. Are you getting this information from the local Carrier Distributor or from the Carrier Syracuse Plant? If you have not done so already, try contacting the Carrier Syracuse Plant......be sure to obtain ALL records from your service company to accompany your letter to Carrier. They will need specific installation, start-up, and all service dates to include specifically the type of work performed and the materials used. Your dealer should provide to you at your request.
If it doesn't pan out, then look into service companies and products in your area that have a better reputation and warranty offer. You can install a coil from a different manufacturer than the outdoor A/C unit. It simply needs to be matched up. If your unit has been leaking for 3 years, you have been paying extra utility costs due to poor performance. You have also exposed your entire system to moisture which, if not properly dealt with, will lead to problems with your compressor and/or metering devices. A reputable company will help you address these concerns at time of coil replacement by removing the refrigerant in your system, testing for acid, installing a filter drier, evacuating the system down to 500 microns, and recharge using virgin refrigerant.
Here is link to a site giving you Carrier's C.E.O.'s name and contact information. Hope this helps. :-)

I assume you are talking about the indoor unit. One function of the a/c system is to dehumidify the air. Condensation forms on the cooling coil and runs to the drip pan. There should be a drain line on the drip pan that drains the pan outside. These sometimes become clogged causing the water level in the pan to rise. Try some mild drain cleaner to open the line. Hope this helps. Let me know what you find.

Hello, the drain line will be located under the unit near the condenser coil. Sometimes it can get blocked and the condensate will settle toward the front of the unit and leak from the unit. Also, make sure the unit is tilted back in the window about a 1/4 inch aswell.
