Beeping noise when playing radio/cd?

I have just got a Peugeot 206 (2005) and whenever I try to play a CD or put the radio on, a loud beeping starts and doesn't stop until I turn the cd/radio off. Any ideas/how to fix? Many Thanks

Sounds like the unit will have to be reprogrammed with the cars VIN number. Your Peugeot dealer can do this for you.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: cd player and hot (high temperature) CD's

As with all electronics... anything can happen (even unexplained). There are two things to think abou tin this expensive experience.

  1. 1.CD's are made of plastic and metal... excessive temperature can cause them to warp, but not as bad as the old vinyl.
  2. Mosy electronics have an acceptable operating temperature. Although the unit may work outside these limits, it is not recommended. ex:My Sony DVD R/W has a range of about 40-95 F. Being in Houston I am sure the upper limit is reached OUTSIDE the car. Inside you are probably pushing 120+.
It may not be convenient but if you have to leave discs in the car, try putting them in a case in the trunk, out of direct sunlight. And let things cool down inside the car before trying the CD player.

I have not seen this before but like I said, anything is possible.

SOURCE: "err" with CD player

it sounds that your lens could be damage or your loading mechanism, 1st try using a cleaner to clean the lens if that does not work , your either need to get the factory stereo service or start thinking of a new radio

SOURCE: E20 error code

E20  error is a problem with the focus on the CD reader.

If the error only occurs on one CD then it's most likely a problem with a smudge or scratch on that CD and not the CD player  lens .
Try cleaning the CD thoroughly with iso-propyl alcohol

SOURCE: beeping sound in the background of the radio music

Looks like the sound suppressor which is connected between the player and the battery has failed.
Usually found on the RED wire connecting to the power supply close to the battery.
You will need to change this.

Why has the cd player has stopped working,it only goes from tape to radio and back again.

Do you have a digital display? Are there any lights on the player to tell you it is playing? Have you tried to open the CD drawer? There might be a button on it, so you can put a CD in it. I suggest you try to put a CD in it, because it might play automatically when you insert a disc. If that doesn't work, come back and let us know.

Makes beeping sound

It means that radio wasn't coded to you car - you'll have to visit a dealer or someone with peugeot planet (or diagbox) interface, and have your car's VIN coded into your radio.

I bought a second hand radio/cd player for my citroen berlingo from a scrap yard when i turn it on i get a loud beeping noise although the radio/cd work

The Car VIN number has to be Security Linked ..from car radio to your car`s ECU

Can only be dealt with by your Main Dealer or a Radio Decoding Service only

Dvd drive not working

Typically, the grunting would indicate a bad drive. Replace it. They're fairly inexpensive nowadays ($20-$30).

CD Changer noise

That sounds like a bad ground wire. You may have mice eating wires. Try gently shaking the changer to see if its a loose connection. the noise will go away if its a loose connection there. if not it may need a pro to find the wire problem. if you have access to the cd changer wiring, unplug it entirely and see if the noise goes away.

Hold down the Display/Menu function button (one of those three buttons on the left of the unit) for about 3-4 seconds until the display reads "t set". When this appears, push the track forward button once (>>|) so the display reads "beep"; now press the play pause button (>||) once. The display will now say "on", push the track forward button (>>|) once to make it read "off"; now push the stop play button. You're done. Enjoy the silence.

How do I make my alarm on my Bose Wave Radio play the FM Radio instead of the usual beeping noise?

When you choose the alarm button on the back row of buttons in the middle you get 4 options, no alarm, beeping, music, beeping & music. These are represented by icons on your front panel the note and the ))) sign.
