This is most likely due to data corruption or bad sectors on the hard disk. No easy solutions to this. You need a bootable CD, DVD or flash drive with a suitable set of utilities to carry out a disk check and attempt repair. You may be able to do this if you have a diagnostic partition on the laptop. Try pressing F10 or F12 at power-up to get to the boot menu and see if there is an option for running the diagnostics.
If this is not possible, try downloading a version of Linux e.g. Ubuntu which will run directly from the DVD and let you carry out diagnostics on the drive.
If it is a HDD failure then you should try to back up all of your data and then replace the HDD and reinstall the operating system.

SOURCE: i have drivers

If what you need is the driver for your laptop. Go to http://support.dell.com and click on drivers. Once there it would ask you if you would like to search for drivers using the service tag or by choosing the model. It would be best to just enter the service tag. Your service tag would be located at the bottom of your laptop on a small dark gray sticker.

SOURCE: Toshiba stuck on start-up screen.

The windows files have been corrupted, I was hoping you might get into safe mode to try a system restore but your system will not allow it. If you can find your recovery disc a clean install is the best way to go. Try www.toshiba.com contact customer support about a replacement recovery disc.

I cant get my disk out of my xps m1330 laptop what do I do?

Have you tried using the Eject button on the controls above the Function keys on your Dell XPS M1330 laptop to eject the disk from the optical drive?

If the above does not solve the problem then you may need to refer to the Service Manual for your XPS M1330 which has information on how to remove and replace the Optical drive if this has failed.

My dell xps m1330 is stuck on the loading screen, after i start it. it will load for about 10 minutes and go black then restart itself..

Hi there,
First with your computer off push start and at the same start tapping on the f8 button. If you did this right you will come to a screen that has a list of comands and one of them will be safe mode. You can only use the up arrow button to highlight safe mode. Now hit the enter button on your keyboard. The next screen will give you two options, chouse yes for safe mode.Once in safe mode hit the start button then click on controle panel, look for system (if you change to clasic view the icon will look like a monitor).Once located open it up and click on advanced tab (XP) or Advanced system settings.Look forStartup and recovery.Click on the Settings button. In this screen look for System failure.Clear the box that labled Automatically restart.Close everything and shutdown with the start button.Start your PC and when you get to your desktop hit the start button then all programs ,Accessories,System tools,System Restore.Pick a bold date and do a restore.Once this gets done you may lose a program that was downloaded between the date you chose and now but that may be the one causing thec problem.Thank You for choosing FixYa.com.

Boot into safe mode and negotiate to passwords in control panel, remove password.(If in windows logon P/W)

If its at boot up in bios then its a complete dismantle of the laptop to remove the cmos battery for 1 hour.

Dell XPS M1330 laptop doesn't boot just shows colored lines...

Multiple problem issue going on here, with the screen having those lines popping up the way it is, the screen is definitely going to need to be replaced.

Hard drive is a more touchy issue. Not sure if you put a new one or a refurhbished one in the system. If it was a used one or refurbished one, I would suggest putting a new one in the laptop to be sure the hard drive is good and then reinstall the OS and put the drivers back on. That would be my suggestion.

The other thing to try would be to make sure your memory is good. If you have more then one stick, try each stick one at a time and turn on the laptop after inserting just one memory stick into the drive, and then repeat the process with the other and see if the laptop does the same thing each time, if it does then you know the memory is good, if you can get it to boot up into windows with one memory stick but not the other then you know one of the memory sticks is bad.

In fact try the memory swap first and then if that doesn't get you anywhere then try a new hard drive in the laptop.

If that doesn't get you anywhere then you know for sure the motherboard is bad.

if you bought this from dell, use the restore disks that came with it starting with disk one. you wont be able to save your files bt at least you will have a usable computer. i have an XPS studio 16 and had to do the same thing.

Dell xps m 1330 starts fine but goes ...

Boot into Safe Mode and change the video resolution to the lowest resolution supported. Reboot the machine normally. The problem should have disappeared. From here you can readjust your display resolution to any higher resolution supported by the system if you wish.
