Question about Singer 2250 Tradition
Personally regret to hear a kind of problem that you have on the machine, however the other customers are enjoying and benefited from it for one reason they were given demonstration before/upon purchasing the 2250. If your new machine does not include a demo cd, I suggest you visit singer site thru google "singer 2250 sewing machine" and you may be able to download the video on how to use the machine. Hope that can be useful.

Testimonial: "U regret U Heard my complaint??? Why bother answer then...?! I bought the german Singer machine in German company Lidl in Malta. Got the Swedish instructions I needed and went through every detail. Took it slowly 1st and a bit faster to wind it and not to the full bobbin. Moved the stick to left and bobbin was stucked! I tell U it's the plastic Chinese bobbins that cant take the winding, because I actually winded off the thread by hand and suddenly the bobbin just went off!! SO obviously the bobbin shrinks of pressure/heatand it should B a metallic one as in the good Days.... Thankx GB"

SOURCE: Bobbin thread getting caught
Check your Instruction manual - if you have taken the bobbin case apart to clean it, the shuttle must be reinserted with the little tab pressing against the piece you mention. It is under page 45 - "Caring for your machine" in my book. I missed it the first time I cleaned and oild mine.

First, rethread the machine and be sure the thread passes through the take up lever. If it still does the same thing, remove the needle plate to access and remove the bobbin case. Check the bobbin case for burrs, scratches or any rough spots. If you find one it needs to be buffed with an emery stick or sharpening stone until it is smooth and then buffed with some steel wool. Clean out any lint you see and reinstall the parts.

Most machines you slide the bobbin winder to the right to wind and then back to the left when your done to remove. Just making sure.... you did move it back to the left?

Always have the presser foot up when you thead any sewing machine.
Make sure the flat side of the needle shaft is facing to the back of the machine.
Don't do anything to the bobbin tension. Set the top thread tension to what is recommended by the mfg.
Make sure the thread from the bobbin is feeding from the bobbin in the correct direction and through the correct guides.
After inserting the bobbin and threading the machine, lower the needle (hold on to the thread tail) and then raise it by turning the hand wheel by hand to pull up the bobbin thread.
Gently pull the two threads under the presser foot and to the back of the sewing machine before you begin to sew.
