Question about Sharp LC-42D43U 42 in. LCD HDTV
My Sharp LC-42D43U shows the power on light but no picture or sound. It does not respond to the remote and it does not turn off. After a few minutes the power and opc lights blink twice, then the power light blinks once, then a pause before the sequence starts again. After approximately a few minutes I'll start to hear a double click from the left side which continues every 50 seconds or so. I've tried to reboot this by holding down various combinations of buttons before plugging the tv back in (e.g. input plus volume, input plus channel, power plus input, etc), without success. Thanks in advance for your help. I've tried various

SOURCE: No picture, but power is on...
How many times does the POWER led blink per sec? (dont worry about the OPC)
2x = power supply (not as expensive to fix)
3x = Main board (expensive to fix)

Power board is detecting an 'over-or-under-voltage' condition from other circuits. Could also be high dc volt shut-down. In either case, the tv is in protection mode to stop further damage this is why it flash an error code 4 times. Each number flash intervals tells the tv-technician what area the fault may potentially be. take it back if its under warranty, or have a repair shop near you fix it.

SOURCE: TV won't turn on
the first thing that you need to do is to open the back cover of your tv.Go to the power supply section it is separate board where the power cord is connected.Using a multitester, plug in the power cord and measure for the output supply.see if the 5vdc ,12vdc and 24vdc are present..if one of this output is missing, replace the power supply board But if the output voltage are complete, replace the inverter board,It is a board that supplies the high voltage to the backlights of your monitor/screen....You can also try to reset the system of your tv by pressing the the small switch mounted on the main board press it twice while the power is on...tnx and good luck!

This problems is very common on Sharp tv after a year or two.I have one too 46" Aquos. The tv Tuner signal board have problems, but this tv still usable. My tv does Power and OPC LEDS lights flashes alots many times as the tv getting older. This how i solved it.If POWER and OPC LEDS lights flashes, just press the remote power again wait awhile.Sometimes POWER and OPC LEDS lights will flashes again, just press the remote power button again and wait awhile.Sometimes POWER and OPC LEDS lights will repeat like 3 or 4 everytimes, just must press the remote power switch wait awhile eventually the backlight, will light up the Tuner signal board kick in and work.Have to press the remote power button and wait for the POWER and OPC LEDS to stop blinking and the Tuner signal board to kick in.But like POWER and OPC LEDS blinks 10 or 12 times and remote power button press 10 or 12 times,it time to replaced the tv Tuner signal board.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish tv Tuner signal board for the replacement.
