Yahoo Messenger Has Been Locked

As its name implies, Yahoo Messenger allows you to exchange instant messages with other Yahoo users.
But the software's capabilities extend far beyond one-on-one text conversations.
You can use Yahoo Messenger to participate in chat rooms, share photos, make telephone calls, video chat, play games and more.

Unlocking Accounts
To unlock your account, go to Yahoo's sign-in page and enter your user ID and password.
When you reach your My Yahoo page, click on one of the Quicklinks you see on the left side of the page.
Leave your My Yahoo page open.
Sign into Yahoo Messenger for the Web, then try to sign into Yahoo Messenger.
If you are unsuccessful, contact customer care.
Current Versions
"Account locked" messages aren't the only sign-in problems you may experience with Yahoo Messenger.
Some users experience sign-in issues when using older versions of the software.
Yahoo engineers recommend upgrading to the newest version of Messenger.
To determine what version you have, look for the "About Yahoo Messenger" link under the Help menu.

Other Sign-in Issues

However, since the login and password for your Yahoo email account is the same as the login for your Yahoo Messenger account, you will not be able to retrieve the email. In this case you will be forced to create a new Yahoo account.

3. Write down the User ID and any other pertinent information from the confirmation screen. Keep this in a safe place as you will need the login name and password each time you use Yahoo messenger/Yahoo email.

If you already have a Yahoo mail account, all you have to do is to download and install the Yahoo Messenger. Your Yahoo Mail user name and password should be your Yahoo Messenger user name and password as well.

Useful YPOPs! Options

I recommend you also double-click the YPOPs! system tray icon to change a number of useful settings.

You can make YPOPs! ignore messages in the Bulk Mail folder of your Yahoo! Mail account, for example, tell it not to mark downloaded messages as read, fetch sent mail or have YPOPs! put a copy of outgoing mail in your Yahoo! Mail Sent Items folder.

The first thing that you need to create is a Yahoo! Mail account. If you already have a Yahoo! Mail account, there's no need for you to create a Yahoo! Messenger account.
