When I print a thick blue line (about 3 inches thick) is printed also. How do I get rid of this?

Go into the computer and the click Printers and then Maintenance. do all the cleaning tasks including the one that cleans the paper path if there is one.

If you are printing a line that thick the inkjet head is releasing too much ink. If your menu is on card, you can only print successfully if the printer has a straight pass door at the rear of the machine so the card remains flat. The cardstock will smudge as it passes around the rollers. You can get over this by printing on quality paper and then putting them in a menu folder. I did this with my Inn's restaurant menus. The bar snack menus were printed on card using pass though and on a laser printer..

Printers that can print cards as thick as ID for corporate pass

Most companies that have ID cards for their employees prefer the 30 Mil thick CR80 cards. Most have electronics inside the card to allow access to buildings/rooms. If you do not need a thick card printed, then print on a laser printer and place that print inside a card holder. If you do need the thick card but very few and rarely, have a service company provide that service for you.

My HP 4100tn will not print and I am getting error message as follows: 82.0180 EIO 2 ERROR I printed a document and then when I tried to print another document I got the error message. How can I fix...

Thank you for contacting FixYa with your printer inquiry.

This is an error caused by the jet direct card in your printer, try one of two things.
  1. Move the Jet Direct card from port 1 to port 2 on the printer.
  2. Replace your jet direct card with one that you know is good.

Test to see if either of these resolves the issue.

The problem is usually a faulty card.

J7934-69011 JetDirect 620n internal print server - 10BaseT and 100BaseTX LAN interface board - Plugs into peripheral EIO slot - Has an RJ-45 connector

Hope this helps helps. Please keep us updated and remember to rate this answer.

When I try to line tells me that the paper size mismatch and only takes a copy of the text

Have/had the same problem: Getting "paper size mismatch" on the C4280 status screen, after we got a paper jam. Every time we hit OK and put in paper, Message about "Now printing Alignment page", it feeds through quickly, with nothing printed on the page and reverts back to Paper size mismatch. Finally got rid of the error, not sure how, but now when I try to copy anything, we only get the lower right postion of the document that I'm trying to copy. Printing from the PC seems ok.
Powered off and back on, and it is back to P"now printing alignment page, quick feed through and "paper size mismatch" error. AND
When copying directly from the glass panel,it will only print a quarter of the page -however it prints and coorectly if we print directly from the computer.
The problem is the paper size sensors. Remove the plastic access panel that is for access to the rollers in the back and has 4 rollers on it. There are two papaer sensors attached to the printer circuit board (PCB). The control arm for the sensor is a small plastic piece that extends slightly into the paper path above the PCB. The plastic can be broken when you are removing a paper jam. I stuck a small piece of a match stick in the sensor to keep it open (as though a wider piece of paper was passing throught the printer). I can't switch to smaller card stock, etc, but who cares, it works.
The copying problem is caused because the C4280 will not scan correctly until after it does the alignment phase.

It is a communication error. Tried powering down for 10 minutes and then up. Error came back. Turned off printer and took out the jet direct card and turned on the printer while holding the green check button to attempt a cold reset. Started fine. No errors. This maybe that the 615 jet direct card was flaky. But make sure it wasn't the formatter board so turned the printer off and placed the jet direct card to another port on the formatter. Same error occurs. Change the jet direct card and you will be able to to print the config page with no errors with the new jet direct card.

If you have a 615 jet direct card, you may replace it with a 620. 615s are the worst cards ever!!! please update your printer and jetdirect card firmwares. If it still gives you that error, change your printer driver. IF you still encounter the problem, time to change the jet direct card. If that doesn't fix the problem, change your formatter along with any memories with the formatter.

My OKI 591 is only printing going one direction, not backwards and forwards like before so it's very very slow. Is there a setting that causes this? Thank you

Usually when this printer prints in HIGH QUALITY, it will only print one way, to avoid misalignment issues between the one pass one way and the next pass coming from the opposite direction.

If I am right, lowering the quality of your print to "normal" or "draft" should give you back the "2-way printing"

This is an IO error. Remove the back cover and disconnect the cables to the HDD and remove the JetDierct card. Print the internal test page. If it prints OK, install the Jet Direct card. Print again. Prints OK? Replace the HDD (or run without it). Does not print OK?
Replace the JetDirect card. Parts available at:

HP Colour LaserJet 4600dn printer problem

The problem is usually caused by printing a PDF file with fonts/page size/ page formating errors which will cause the printer to display the 49.3048 error. The only way to use the printer is to POR or recycle the power and delete the print job from the server or spooling device and cancel it on the printer before the offending command is issued to the printer again. You can try updating the firmware to the latest version 46.140.5 from the HP website. MIke L.
