SOURCE: whirlpool top freezer fan not

This refrigerator has a basic wiring diagram showing power going through the defrost timer, compressor and compressor start components. Because the model number could be very close to the ET8WTKXK your model may have either a ADC, adaptive defrost control or typical 482493 Defrost Timer

Here is a Whirlpool ET8WTKXK Top Freezer Refrigerator basic wiring diagram.

sea_breeze_121.jpg In this photo you may have bad contacts inside timer part 4 in photo=> ET8WTKXKB03 Controls Ethier way I don't think it will be hard to find, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Freezer is not working; light (power is on and I think the fridge side is working

You probably have a bad fan motor in the freezer. When you hear the compressor running, open the freezer and listen for the fan. It is located in the back of the freezer. To access the fan, remove everything from the freezer. Locate the screws holding the back panel in place and remove them. With a voltmeter, check for voltage on the terminals of the fan while the compressor is running. If you have voltage and the fan is not running, replace the fan. You can buy replacement fans on-line, at your local appliance parts store, even ebay. Get the model number of your refrigerator, and you can easily locate the part you need.

My Whirlpool side by side fridge and freezer not working

Most likely, if you can hear the compressor running, the fan inside the freezer is not working. When the compressor is running, open the freezer and listen for the fan running. If you don't hear it, locate it and, with a voltmeter, test for voltage across the terminals. If you have voltage present, replace the fan. You can buy replacement fans at a local appliance parts store, internet parts suppliers, even ebay.

The freezer is not freezing evenly. Only the bottom is freezing. I think the fan is not work. Is there anything else that could be wrong. It is an upright freezer. I took the inside cover off and the fan...

Yes, the fan needs to be running. I can't say for sure since I can't test it, but if you can, test for voltage to the fan wires. If it has voltage, replace the fan.

My refrigertors stop working

First thing to do,is,see if the compressor is running,it should be humming, and warm to the touch. There should be a fan running under the unit, cooling the condenser. And the fan in the freezer unit should be running. If none of these are running, check to see if there is current in the wall plug, maybe plug it up to a known hot, receptacle. If the fan in the freezer is working,or the condenser fan, check the thermostat to see if it is working. If it is,take a 120 volt, volt meter, and check the voltage going in the compressor,if it is getting voltage, and is real hot to touch, then it is bad,the compressor,or if it s not running, then it is bad.If the compressor is running, and the large line off the compressor is cold,or near it,then it may be just low on freon. So many things to check here.

FREEZER IS WORKING FINE BUT THE REFRIGERATOR IS 60 DEGREES

Temporarily adjust the thermostat setting on the refrigerator and freezer. When the refrigerator starts running, open the freezer compartment door and listen for the fan in the freezer compartment to hear if it's running.

If it's not running, you can check with a volt meter by using one volt meter probe on the common side and one volt meter probe on the hot side of the fan motor. If the fan is getting voltage but is not turning, replace the evaporator fan.You may have to remove the back panel and the bottom panel inside the freezer compartment to access the evaporator fan.

Please use care when using the volt meter. If you are not familiar with electricity, you need to have someone who is skilled in the use of a volt meter to check it for you.

Freezer not freezing fridge not cold, freezer frosted up

There is one compressor that serves both the freezer and refridgerator compartments. You need to confirm if the evaporator fan in the freezer compartment is working. When you open the door to the freezer, you should see and hear the evaporator fan in the freezer compartment running. Particularly if there is a demand on the unit through the thermostat setting. If the evaporator fan is not operating, you can check the evaporator fan motor with a volt meter to see if it's getting power. If its getting voltage, but not operating, you need to replace the evaporator fan motor in the freezer compartment. There are 3 wires that attach to the evaporator fan motor. One hot wire, one neutral wire and one ground wire. The ground wire is usually marked green, the voltage wire is usually marked black and the common wire is usually marked white. You should get a reading on your volt meter of a voltage from the hot post to the neutral or from the hot to the ground. If it is getting power but will not operate, then it is definitely a bad fan motor that would need to be replaced.

Samsung side by side refrigerator compressor running but both frdge and freezer internal fans are not running can you help thanks

sounds like a problem with the circuit board.....you would have to check and see if the fan is getting voltage.....sometimes the fan in the freezer will build ice from the ice maker leaking, and the ice will get stuck in the fan blade causing it not to run....hard to get to the fan on those but if you disassemble the freezer you can check it out

Hotpoint FFA70P Fridge freezer. High Freezer temp.

can you check the resistance of the fan?..or even the voltage going to the fan ( just be carefull ) if there is presence of voltage, then the problem is the fan, if there is none, you have to trace why. if it has a diagram, you an trace it. or the switch could have been open that is why it is not running. push the door switch if it has one and check again for presence of voltage. i hope i was able to help.
