did you put the bobbin thread in the tensioner? that would be the cut in the side of the bobbin case to pull the thread under the tensioner. if not it will cause problems. but if the top thread is looking good then the top thread is the problem, thread the machine with the presser foot up to let the thread into the tensioner, if it looks good on the top and not the bottom it is the upper thread if it looks good on the bottom and not the top it is the lower thread

Check the needle to be sure it is the correct size for the type of fabric you are sewing and does not have a burr on the tip.
Raise the presser foot when threading the machine and this will open the tension control so the thread can properly seat into the control and form a proper stitch.
When the machine is threaded with the presser foot down, the tension control closes and the thread cannot enter as it should. In this case, the bobbin thread is the only thread with tension.

try changing the needle--make sure to use every thread guide
try a different thread
check for any burrs on the needle plate or on the bobbin case
clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for lint or loose
