Its not soap, its actually calcium from hard water. There is a new product out at www.dishwasherfilter.com that solves this problem once and for all. It might be helpful if you provide the model number.
For proper drying of dishes you need to make sure the Rinse aid is set at the right level plus the drying fan is working.
Some dishwashers also use the hot air by running the heater. If the heater is not working then drying can be affected.
