Question about LG Dryers
Cleaned the vent. There was a lot of debris. Installed new vent hose. When I start the cycle, I can hear the gas ignite. It sounds like it burns for about five seconds and then shuts off. Could this be the thermal fuse? Igniter? Regulator? Is this something I can figure our and fix myself?

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

The problem you are describing is usually associated with a bad gas valve coil. The dryer runs normally until it gets hot, then starts making a strange clicking noise. After it cools down, the dryer runs normally again. The gas valve coils (there are two of them) usually run about $20 a piece. I recommend replacing both of them at the same time just to be sure. I hope this helps.

If the glow bar is cycling off and on the glow bar works and the black box on the side of the vent are working, Either there is no gas to the dryer, doubltful but something to check or, You need a gas valve.
I would check for gas first, do you have other gas appliances? and all are functioning properly? Check the gas line and make sure someone hasnt accidently turned off the gas. If it is none of these you need a gas valve.
Go to repairclinic.com or partselect.com with your Sp Q model number, or the part number off the gas valve, it could be a five digit 58**** or 51***** number. Get you best price. Im guessing 80 to 100 Amercian
When replacing the gas valve, unplug the dryer first, turn off the gas, remove the front panel, two screws lower front panel, you will need a crescent wrench for gas line of side and a 5/16 nut driver remove wires. Now remove the orfice from the old gas valve and make sure you install it on the new valve. Is this a Natural Gas or LP Gas dryer?, If it is LP make sure you make the conversion to LP. Ask if you have more questions on this.
install gas valve, tighten gas line turn gas on check for leaks! with a bubble solution, start dryer and make sure dryer works properly.
best of luck

replace the igniter. The ignitor is the most comon problem with gas appliances checking continuity does not tell you if it is bad or not it has to draw a certain amount of amps to open the gas safty valve and the is no safe way to check this on most gas dryers
