SOURCE: What is your oponion of a Weather King Unit ?

I installed Whethe king ,Goodman ,Philco,Intertherm condensing units and there's no much difference in prices and the quality is the same ,just choose the one with better warranty. But if you want to expend more money the next one will be a Rheem or Ruud unit ,and after that you have more expensive and more complicated units like Lenoxx or Trane but those have more electronic parts that can brake and they very expensive to fix.I'm in this business for a long time and if ineed to get a new one i'll go for a standar price one with a good warranty.

SOURCE: I have a weather king 5 ton 13 seer r-22 cube

It sounds like the contractor's grade unit. The efficiency of your unit is the minimal allowable by federal law. R-22 is in the midst of a phaseout; therefore, any service that requires addition/replacement of R-22 will be quite costly. The price of R-22 is 5 times as high as it was just a few years ago.....and the price will continue to escalate. Weather King is a reputable unit. It's dependability will also depend on the quality of the installation and how well it was matched with your indoor unit (air handler).

SOURCE: Weather king #10PJA3101 /serial #6811 M1903

Hi, I am sorry to say that the compressor on a new unit comes with a factory warranty of only 1 year. You can purchase a extended warranty of an extra 4 years, but you have to do that of the time you bought the unit.

What's wrong with your current AHU? Any Ruud dealer can assist you. Most 4 ton units work with r-22 or 410a. As a side note, most parts in an air handler can be replaced unless the case is rusted thru.

Warranty on compressor

The actual age of your unit can be determined by the serial number. Based on the age indicated there they can tell you if the warranty is still valid. Your local Rheem/weather king dealer can do this for you. Most compressor warranties are either 5 or 10 years. Good Luck!
