If traction drive belt is turning you should check the input drive shaft on top of trans to see if it is turning as well,Traction drive belt is suspect but could be a stripped out input shaft pulley.Make sure the machine tow lever is not pulled out, rear of machine by tow hitch. Also pull rubber caps off of both axle ends to see if one the axles is turning free inside of rim,if so remove wheel and replace axle key.

remove the black hub caps, then pull off the metal push nuts, then pull the wheels off, this will give you access to the motors and gear boxes, you'll then have to remove the two screws that hold the gearbox in, then you should be able to finagle the gearboxes out

Need to dissassemble my sons gator to put in a new gear drive ---how do i get to the gear drive is threre a disassembly guide or diagram for this

remove the center caps of the rear wheels then use a 13mm wrench on each side and loosen the bolts for the rear wheels, when loose remove the wheels and axle, then remove the red pin on the fron of the bed, then the two black pins on the rear of the bed, then lift the bed off, then lift the green plastic panel off this will expose the motors then, disconnect the wires from the motor and remove the two screws that hold the gearbox in place then take the gearbox and motor assembly out then remove the two screws that hold the motor to the gear box

I've taken the seat off, completely exposing the two motors on my son's john deere turf tractor (12v). i need to replace one of the motors. how do i remove it after i've disconnected the wires?

you have to remove the center cap from one of the wheels then remove the metal push nut, this will allow you to slide the wheel and rear axle off, then you have to remove the two screws that hold the motor and gear box in place, then you can take out the motor gearbox assembly, then there two screws to remove the motor from the gearbox, then do them in the opposite order to put it back together
