As it starts and stops several switches will open and/or close, sometimes you can hear them. When it's just running then it may make a few noises from expansion and/or contraction.

Steve realize plenum needs to cool before shut down but even after cold still does not stop.

Ok - let's back up a little bit.. Do you have a forced hot air furnace? Does it run either oil or natural gas (or liquid propane)? Do you have a chimney or power vent?

Why does new furnance with propane conversion have yellow flames?

Make sure the kit included smaller sized orifice's and spring kit for the gas valve. The number on each orifice should be cross referenced with total btu's rating of the furnace. It does seem like there is too much fuel or not enough air intake (combustion air). The inches of W.C. seem fine, but you still may be getting too much volume of fuel with too large of sized orifice's. Hope that helps

I'm getting the 2 flashing light indicator, says the combustion air switch is stuck what do i need to do? I tapped on it and the heater comes on, but will only run one cycle.

first thing i would do is follow the short rubber tub from the draft switch to the furnace. pull the hose off the furnace body and run a paper clip, or such, into the hole. replace the hose and see if that helps. check the vent ing for blockage and then replace the switch

RHEEM HIGH EFFICIENT FURNACE-BACKDRAFT SHUTTING IT DOWN

It's the pressure switch on the unit. Make sure that the pressure switch doesn't have debris in it that keeps it from operating smoothly. Take the tubing off from the inducer side and breath in and blow out lightly while listening for a clicking noise. If that doesn't work then I would recommend replacing it. That should solve the issue.

Small blower motor? Are you talking about the combustion blower if so then check your vents for blockage.. if the vents are blocked won't work... if it has a control board init it will give you a diagnostic code. Flashing light on the board... count the flashes and look up the fault on the chart in your owners manual ot on the furnace door..

Heater flashes 3 times says it means combustion switch failed to close

Combustion switch is your vent safety.. Check your vents outside for blockage, sometimes the intake pipe will freeze or frost up not allowing the preassure switch(vent safety)to close. putting furnace into a lock out.. you can reset the furnace by turning the power on and off.. if there is no power switch just remove the bottom door and reinstall...
