Question about GE Energy Star WCVH6260F Front Load Washer
My washer is shredding my bedsheets. I even loaded the washer with only the top and bottom fitted sheet, so there would be plenty of room for the sheets to wash. I took the sheets out, they were spiraled like as if wrung, and there was a big spot totally shredded! This is the 3rd set of sheets this has happened to. I need to know if there is something that can be done. Is it the agitator? I called sears to see if there was a recall and they didn't have one. I am sick of this washer tearing up my sheets. I have noticed ripped spots on some of our large towels. HELP!
Check the drum for any Sharpe edges or splits also check the activator for the same . Something in side may have a rough edge to cause this .

Check the spring that hold the drum in place. They are about 4-5 inches long on the top of the drum at about 2 and 10 o'clock. The springs suspend the drum and if broken the drum will bang around. About $40 to order springs online
Also check on the bottom at about 4 and and 7 o'clock because there are 2 shock absorbers that help keep the drum from just bouncing and bouncing with no end in sight. Again about $40 to change each one.
I am in the process of the first repair and doesn't seem too difficult. The second was done about 6 months ago and was not too difficult but was awkward because you had to lay on the floor to get the replacement pins in place.

the top seal in the transmission is bad causing oil to get inside you will need to replace the trans but it will be cheaper to buy a new washer

SOURCE: need to remove agitator
IF THIS IS AN OLDER UNIT THE AGITATOR WILL BE SEIZED TO THE SHAFT ODDS OF GETTING THE AGITATOR OFF ARE VERY SLIM. IT SOUNDS LIKE THE NUT UNDER THE CAP IS SEIZED ALSO YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO REMOVE THE CAP AND THEN USE WRENCHES TO REMOVE THE NUT
