Question about Sony VAIO Computers & Internet
Sigma tel camera disappeared off my laptop. I've had this computer for almost 8 years and cannot find where to reinstall it. I still have the sigmatel audio, but cannot be seen when calling daughter on facebook. I can see her she cannot see me.
Go to control panel use the utility system restore , put the last date that you know was working Good, and ready .
God bless you

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

you have done all there is to try to correct the problem, I would say its somethinhg you have to live with, you might try changing the headset and mic if your using one to see if that helps, but other than what you have done there's not much more you can do.

You might have to back up your data and reinstall windows.Based on what you've done it would seem that windows is corupted and preventing the driver software from loading.

#1 Flash the BIOS to the most current version. #2 Run diagnostics from the F12 menu (Or Power plus FN key) see if the speakers work in the diagnostic. If they work in diags, there is no hardware issue, only a software issue. If you get no sound in diags, try a pair of headphones, if you still get no sound, then it is a hardware problem. If you only get sound in the headphones, then the microswitch that disables the speakers is stuck. #3 is sound works in diags then you have a problem with the audio driver or speaker configuration (Audio muted etc)

Most likely you have another chat program using the camera. Right click on the icons in the systray next to the clock and exit programs. After exiting each program, try the camera again. The last program you exit before the camera is the one causing the problem. Restart the computer and right click on that program and try and set it to not start when the Windows starts.
