Question about Dishwashers
My candy future3 dishwasher just won't start the p4 button is on and red,but it won't start it's function ,my daughter pressed some button may be ...what to do now ???
Test the following steps and fix it. God bless you
The main power supply is the first thing to check. Also remove the toe kick and the cover on the power box and check the connections. Also check the 120 volts at the power box
Hi - Limit Fuse
This will fail if your dishwasher overheats and occassionally with power surges. This is easy to check, inexpensive and a quick fix. Just check the terminals for continuity ( remember always remove one wire) if you have none replace the hi- limit fuse
This is the second place to look. Again an inexpensive easy fix. The following video will walk you thru checking the door switch The power comes into the main power box and usually runs to the door switch next before entering the main control module.
Main Control Module / Timer
The main control module or mechanical timer controls all the functions of the dishwasher. To check this you will need to find the 2 leads that supply the power to the control. They will be marked on the wiring diagram. They usually come from the hi - limit fuse or the door switch. When the door is latched you should have 120 volts entering the main control. If you do not the problem is not the control. If you do have power entering the control but none of the functions work properly or it does not respond at all you will need to replace the control module, this is easy to replace but not very inexpensive to purchase. Consider the age and overall condition when purchasing this part.
The motor may have failed. If the control illuminates on electronic versions the problem may be the motor. To check the motor refer to the tech sheet located behind the console cover on most models, this will sometimes have the ohm reading of the motor. Also check each lead to the metal housing of the motor to check for shorts in the motor. If you do not have the ohm reading specicifications, check for continuity if none replace the motor. Make sure the motor is receiving power.
If the float switch has failed or is stuck the dishwasher control may not respond. The float switch is easy to check and replace.

There is no error code, then check the following:
1)Check that the problem is not overflow.. Remove the lower access panels and check the tray under the dishwasher. If you find it is full of water use a cloth to dry water. Test the overfill switch.
2) Disconnect power, move the appliance forward and check that the drain and inlet hose is OK. Be sure that the machine is filling. THE DRAIN HOSE MUST RUN UP TO THE TOP OF THE UNDERSIDE OF THE COUNTERTOP THEN DOWN TO THE DRAIN. If the hose is not set up like this, water from the sink drain will flow into the dishwasher and overfill the tray.
3) Test the door lock. This can be tested jumping its contacts.
4) If all the rest is OK you may have a defective control module. This is not a common fault. Ensure that all the rest is OK first, wiring and pump motor must be tested before going for control module.
Start checking for overfill, that is a very common fault that may cause cycle not starting
If you want to contact a technician use the number listed on the USE AND CARE GUIDE.

SOURCE: unit just quit. won't start
please provide the model number of the Samsung dishwasher.
if none of the lights light up, then a fuse might be blown somewhere. If the problem is the start buttion does not start the dishwasher , then the door latch switch could be faulty.

II might need the actual model number. However, you can go to page 9 on this manual and check if the flashing options can fix the problem. I am assuming you have already tried to turn the power off and back on.
The ohter thing to try is the reset sequence. Within 6-7 secs press High Temp/ Heat Dry/ High Temp/ Heat Dry/ High Temp/ Heat Dry. All lights should light up, press Start button to exit.

Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.
