Question about Computers & Internet
Running DJ/Karaoke show from a laptop to a pre-amp/amp & speakers. All software says music is playing but no sound.
Assuming a Windows PC, go to Control Panel and locate the Sound item (Start button->Control Panel->Sound, should have a speaker logo beside it). Check the entries there and see if one of them is listed as disabled. If so, right click on it and choose enable. I would then disable the laptop speakers (so you don't have an echo from both sets playing simultaneously; right click the laptop speakers item in the Playback section and choose Disable). The go to the Sound icon in the lower right of your desktop (by the date and time) and unmute the sound. MS has plenty of help online for testing sound to make sure the devices work.

Testimonial: "Headphones aren't listed under playback devices, even if I show disconnected and disabled devices. Is it possible to reinstall headphones?"
