Fuel line replacement for Poulan Pro 25cc High output engine

The fuel line on our Poulan Pro 25 cc high output engine pole saw has deteriorated and come apart. How so we go about replacing the hose? Is there a diagram for this part?

SOURCE: fuel lines

Line into tank isn't easy to pass. I made small hole in line near bottom, tied 30 pound fishing line to it (with knot inside of tube lumen), passed line through opening from above, and with fishing line pressure pulling gas line in, I squeezed tip of gas line entering tank from above with needle nose pliers until the line went into tank. Then i pulled excess through until i could trim tip (with knot) through gas tank opening, and then reversed line pull back into tank. Trim other end to fit onto primer exit port.

This is as good as fuel routing gets!!! If this isn't sufficient Find your nearest Poulan repair facility or try your friendly neighborhood chainsaw seller/mechanic. Resubmitting this question won't get any better answer. HTH

  • The filtered hose from the fuel tank connects directly to the carburetor input connection.
  • If the saw is equipped with a primer, the output line from the carburetor connects to the suction side of the primer bulb (once the bulb is collapsed it draws fuel from the tank through the carburetor to refill the bulb as the bulb reinflates).
  • The pressure side of the primer returns any excess fuel to the tank as it is depressed.

SOURCE: Poulan PP446T Pole Saw. Will run only if choke is

It is running lean. There is an air leak somewhere allowing to much air into the cylinder or crankcase. Continuing to operate lean may cause failure. If fuel delivery lines have no pin holes or cracks probably time for some professional help (pressure tests). Remove clean and reinstall the muffler (carbon fouling can also cause this). If the saw cannot exhale, it cannot inhale. HTH

The trimmer starts fine, but as soon as touching the trigger, it dies. Even if you wait, it runs fine until yu touch the trigger and it dies, every time.

Most symptoms and problems such as you report, are commonly resolved by the following, check, clean, or replace:
  • fuel filter - located in the gas tank
  • Spark plug
  • Spark Arrestor- screen at muffler. When clogged up with carbon build up, engine no longer operates well
  • Carburetor- may need a new rebuild kit
And watch this...

My Poulan Pro 32 cc high output engine (with either the small chain saw or weed eater attachment) is relatively easy to start but after a few minutes it stalls out. Restarts easy but continues to stall out...

hey its broblably a clogged up carburetor which is not letting your engine **** up gas from the main fuel line. my advice is to clean all the filters and passage ways inside the carburetor. Also you may have to replace the diaphram in the carb a diaphram is a thin piece of material that basically pumps the gas into the engine also with the help of the compresiion of the engine sucking it in

I had to replace all my gas line on my Poulan 446t i need someone that knows how they hookup

Typical fuel system and a couple of tips. Leave the carburetor connections a little long so they can be swapped if need be. I think the upper most connection goes to the bleeder.

I think this is an IPL for your pole saw: (there are others, this may not be your saw):
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/PWE/PP446T-Gas-Pole-Pruner/75.PP446T-Gas-Pole-Pruner.1.59.1.html
The IPL (exploded parts list) for your saw is the only detail for fuel line routing and it is sketchy at best; components are listed but may be on different illustrations.

The dash number of your serial number is the type (true for chainsaw, my first pole saw. If uncertain try to contact them please.). HTH

I need info on a Poulan Pro 445 fuel line routing

I'm so confused. This is reported as a Poulan and McCulloch pole saw, which one? Is it a pole saw? That is the only 445 Poulan I can find. It is reported as an electric but has a fuel routing problem.

If it is a Poulan Pro gas pole saw it is here: PP445 Gas Pole Pruner
The fuel system routing is terrible, but it is all there is.
Fuel Routing follows:
Tank to carburetor (hose in tank with filter on free end)
Carburetor to primer (primer draws fuel from the tank through the carb)
Primer to fuel tank (returns any excess fuel to tank when pushed) HTH
