Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

Kitchenaid kuddo1dppa I own a KitchenAid KUDD01DPPA, 2 drawer dishwasher. I am not a technician, however I have had a lot of experience in repairing various appliances and am savvy with electronics and mechanical technical issues. Here's the problem: I was getting rinse error codes in both drawers, pulled the bottom drawer out, removed the cover to the circuit board and used a dryer to dry up the moisture on the flood switch. Now I am getting Fill Failure error code on both drawers. I have good water pressure, and I have checked the resistance reading on both fill valves. They read about 65-70 ohms, which I understand is within range. I still have a sneaky suspicion that the dual valve is the issue. This unit is about 5 years old. Any help would be appreciated.

Test this steps and fix it. God bless you

Water Inlet Valve

The dishwasher has an electrical water valve called a water inlet valve. If the dishwasher won't fill with water, the water inlet valve might be defective. These valves are not repairable and will have to be replaced.

Float

The float assembly is normally inside the dishwasher near the door on the floor of the dishwasher. If something gets stuck underneath it and holds the float assembly up, the dishwasher won't fill with water. If the float assembly moves freely up and down, the float switch might be defective.

Float Switch

The float switch is actuated by the float assembly. It is a protection device designed to prevent the dishwasher from overfilling. If the dishwasher won't fill with water, it may be because this float switch is defective or stuck.

Water Supply Problem

The dishwasher is connected to the hot water supply from the house. Check to be sure the household water supply valve is turned on. Over time, calcium deposits can build up in the water supply valve or in the small filter screen inside the water inlet valve. The water supply line may need to be removed from the water inlet valve of the dishwasher, then run some water into a bucket to see if there is enough pressure. Be certain to turn off the water before working on the water line.

SOURCE: Model KUDD01DPPA KitchenAid dishwasher Error:

Hi.

You can find parts and diagrams for this model here.

Alternatively here: KUDD01DPPA0.

About the problem, the inlet valve and hose is single, therefore the valve is working.
Check the inlet hose setting. Check pressure from lines.

Check the fill hose for the upper drawer. That is likely causing the problem.Check the fill hose in the link assembly, and the valve Check in drain (Fill hose for upper drawer is 4 here).

Regards.

Ginko.

I have a two drawer KitchenAid KUDD01DPPA. Upon pushing the start button on either drawer the dishwashers will start. then within a minute they turn red and beep non stop and the dishwashers do not run

Usually this indicates a leak. Open the bottom drawer and look underneath and behind it in the base of the frame and see if there is water sitting in there. If so, dry it out with towels. Once all the water is dried out run the dishwasher again. If the same thing happens and the water returns you will have to find the source of the leak. Sometimes its just a temporary leak from a tall item obstructing the lids from closing and sealing all the way.

Have a kitchenaid double drawer dishwasher. While running the bottom drawer the top drawer fills up with water. Had the filler valve on the garbage disposal changed. Issue still continues. Any suggestions

Mine does the same thing! (Same model) I've finally discovered that if I start the bottom drawer first and the top drawer just after that doesn't happen as much. Also, if I run the garbage disposal (and water obviously) while it's starting (I will try to do my hand washing while the dishwasher is getting going) that seems to keep this from happening as well. I've given up running just one drawer, which totally defeats the purpose of buying the 2 drawer dishwasher. But it does keep me from having to bail the bottom drawer :-( I'd like a better solution to this too!

Kitchenaid dishwasher KUDD01DPPA0 lower drawer has no lights on start/stop badge and that drawer will not run.

hello, this is the schematic for your entire machine in case you ever do need it http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Kitchenaid-Parts/Dishwasher-Parts/Model-KUDD01DPPA0/0593/0130000?pathTaken=&prst=0&shdMod=KUDD01DPPA0 in your manual it would say what the start stop badge means If this unit is new do not attempt to repair the unit as it would be warrantied and you would void your warranty and I think it is still warrantied seeing how there is no manual online available yet if your unit is not warrantied and you require further diagnosis please message me back and I will look further into your situation Thanks Rick
p.s the stop badge could mean you have a blockage in your drain area but need clarification on your warranty information first Thanks again Rick

Model#KUDD01DPPA Both Drawers keep reverting to light/china error code

Hi. I have the same problem. Were you able to find a solution? This error code means "motor failure". But how can both motors fail at the same time?
