I dont have any waterline in my furnace closet on the deck. How do I get a humidifier installed

I've never heard of a manually-filled furnace humidifier. We use a whole-house, stand-alone humidifier (manually-filled) and it works just fine. Easy to fill, easy to clean, easy to maintain. Even if there were such a thing as a manually-filled furnace humidifier, in the case you describe, I would much rather stay inside to fill my humidifier than get bundled up and step outside into the cold to do it. Hope you find a good solution. Good luck!

Water is continually feeding humidifier even when furnace is not running

I would recommend that you shut off water supply and remove solenoid valve.Disassemble valve and clean it making sure that there is nothing stopping the valve from fully closing. If you can not find any problem after cleaning then reassemble and leave the outlet connection loose.Turn on furnace and see if the valve is even trying to close. If not then you need to replace the solenoid valve. Hope this helps. Thank you.

Our aprilaire humidifier is only 4 years old and it does not seem to be working. We have static in the house and when I did test mode it never drained water like it was supposed to. Any ideas what I can do...

Hope this helps, check and see if humidistat is set to 35% humidity and that bypass damper on humidifier is in the open position or winter position.(humidistat is usually located on cold air return duct near furnace). Next, replace humidifier media pad, remember to replace media pad (filter) annually, you also may want to clean any lime deposit out of humidifier housing with a solution of warm water and white vinegar before installing your new media filter.Remember to turn power off at side of furnace when cleaning humidifier and replacing media. Before installing new media turn power back on to furnace, set humidistat to the on position, turn furnace thermostat above room temp., and inspect humidifier to see if water is running from top,(you may want to have a bucket under humidifier when checking for water), if you see water running, turn power back off to furnace, properly install new media filter, reconnect humidifier cover & set humidistat to 35%. If you do not see water present, check water supply valve to humidifier and make sure its turned on. If water supply valve is open, then check water supply tubing for blockage. And the last things to check is to make sure all registers through out your home are open and not blocked by any objects, also make sure furnace filter is cleaned, if none of this works refer to installation manual to see if humidifier was sized and installed properly, Good luck.

We had our furnace repair turn on our Aprilaire 760 last summer. It gives off a very strong smell similar to an air freshener. We'd like that to be less in intensity. Furnance company says it's just fine....

I hope this helps you, have the repair person check to see if a furnace filter air freshener was installed at your last furnace check up without your knowledge. Also checked all wall and or floor registers to make sure the source of smell is not coming from them, it may be circulating though the duct system.last thing is to replace media pad in humidifier along with furnace filters, if you have air cleaner wash filters with hot water and baking soda, wipe & let dry before re- installing them. Your repair person may have use a strong smelling cleaning solution in humidifier that is now circulating though out your home, good luck.

Mod#BLU100K948A The 2 selenoids on top of gas valve click when they open (normal). Sometimes they work fine, sometimes they have a rapid clicking noise and do not open the gas valves. Furnace just runs and...

The first thing to check would be the filters in the house to make sure they are clean, then check for any blockage. One easy way of seeing if the airflow is good, just put your hands in front of a vent and see how its blowing. Your furnace has what you would call sensors, and if they sense the air flow is inaccurate or to hot inside the unit, the unit will run, but not light. Also, if it tries to relight to many times, the furnace will go into lock out and you have to manually reset it by cutting the power to the furnace. Its kinda hard to diagnose these sometimes over the pc, but I hope it helps.
