SOURCE: Air leaks thru portals on cap after replacing rings and gaskets?

Remove the bumper cap and black exhaust hood from the gun. The three screws that hold the plunger to the poppet need to have lock washers and BLUE locktight on them. Clean them totally and reassemble.

Have a old (1950's guessing) westinghouse air compressor. Pumped it to 150 psi, I shut off, air was coming out of air intake and had pressure in the crank case.

replace the non-return valve in the pipe at the tank connection
air out of intake is poor poppet/read valve seating and pressure in the sump is the tank air leaking back and down past the rings
150 psi is excessive and not good for the compressor so adjust it back to 100 -110 psi

Air leaking/cn-350b

Usually caused by poppet seal # cn-220-3. Poppet seal will crack and not seal fully. New seal must be heated to install or you could crack it. I use heat gun or hair dryer. Examine old seal for proper orientation of taper. Good luck with your repair

Bostitch staplet leaking air at the top. I took the black bumper off and removed the black top four screw. I noticed that there was not a felt or any kind of gasket here. Next the three screw that hold...

No gasket needed for the black top. Spray soapy water on gun to determine exactly where air is leaking. If leaking from screws, remove the three screws and make sure that there is a good gasket between the actuator and the poppet. Check actuator for damage and oring should make good contact against body of gun. Remove scratches from body where oring makes contact with very fine sandpaper. Air is sealed by the oring of the actuator and the three screws. Good luck

I have a bostitch floor staplet 111 and when I hook up the air to it air leaks out of the top and runs all of the air out of compressor please help

Below the rubber bumper is the poppet actuator. The actuator has 3 screws that attached it to the actual poppet below. If the screws do not seat well and/ or if the gasket between these two parts is bad, air will leak out the top. Remove the poppet actuator to check oring on the actuator and the surface of the body of the gun where the oring makes contact. Look for damage to actuator or side wall and repair as needed (sand sidewall where oring makes contact with very fine sandpaper if scratched or dented). If oring does not fit snuggly against sidewall, use teflon tape below oring. Parts are available at www.bostitch.com.

To much oil in tanks air not building up fast

It sounds like your fault could be worn rings on the compressor pistons causing slow pressure buildup and excessive oil in tank. Replacing rings, checking poppet valves for proper sealing and having cylinder bores honed should fix problem.
