SOURCE: I forgot my password in Imation lock.

(assuming you're using Microsoft xp): drop into the DOS shell and force a format of the flash drive. This'll clear everything off it, including any locking mechanisms.

SOURCE: its an imation atom 4GB flash drive.. by some

In the latest version of Disk Manager software, there is a write protect feature. When you bring up the Disk Manager program, in the upper left quadrant of the window you will see the words "Device Write Protect." If the write protect is engaged, the lettering will be blue and you will see a button depressed. But when the write protect feature is off, the lettering is black and there is no button visible.

I forget my password of imation defender 8go F150

The short answer is without the password, all info on the drive will stay encrypted and locked forever. It looks like you may still format it and at least get to reuse the drive. Formatting will erase EVERYTHING on the drive permanently. Here is some more specific information

What is the password for the new kingston USB DT109?

It is true that locking mobile storage devices, such as USB drives, with Imation Lock is an excellent way to protect your data.

However, using Imation Lock with a Kingston USB drive can create problems.

Learn how to unlock your Kingston USB drive so you can use it once again.

Ensure that your Kingston USB drive has been removed from your computer's USB port.

Start the Imation Lock software by double clicking the Imation Lock.

Plug in the Kingston USB into a USB port immediately after the "Please Insert the Device or Run This Utility as Privileged User" message appears.

Access your Kingston USB drive by clicking Start > Computer.

Double click on the device.

Start the Imation Lock software again by double clicking the Imation Lock.

Disable the password protection by clicking the open lock icon.

or

If you have password protected a USB drive or partition on your computer and have since forgotten the password, you will need to completely erase the drive.

Erasing and reformatting the drive will remove any password protection, software and data on the drive preventing you from accessing the drive.

The process is simple using Window's Disk Management utility.

Log into the computer as the administrator.

Open the Windows Start menu, select "Run," type "Compmgmt.msc" and click "OK." In Windows Vista and Windows 7, simply type the command into the "Search" field.

Select "Disk Management."

Locate the password-protected drive.

Right-click it and select "Delete." Confirm the action.

The drive will be erased and become unallocated free space.

Hope this helps.

My louck flash is formated and now i can not use the space what do i do?

Your Imation Swivel Flash Drive comes formatted and ready to use right out of the box.
If you will be using the drive exclusively with Macintosh computers, do not format the Imation Swivel Flash Drive. The formatting message appears if your Macintosh has not yet been set up to read Windows-formatted files. Refer to your Mac's user manual to learn how to enable Windows file read functionality.
Also, be aware that when you format your Imation Swivel Flash Drive with NTFS, you will not be able to store as much data as your would without formatting. The format file used by NTFS will use some of the available space on the Flash drive - for instance, on a 128MB Imation Swivel Flash Drive, you may lose up to 8MB to the NTFS format files.

How do I format my Imation USB 2.0 Swivel Flash Drive in Windows? Your drive must be set up as a single public partition, since neither Windows Explorer nor the Macintosh OS will recognize a password protected partition.
To format the drive in Windows:
  • Go to My Computer
  • Locate the corresponding drive letter for the Swivel Flash drive (i.e. removable drive F)
  • Right click
  • Choose Format from the menu
A dialog box will come up and allow you to format your Swivel Flash Drive. Depending on your operating system, you can choose to format the drive in FAT, FAT32, or NTFS.

How to I remove or resize a partition on my Imation Swivel Pro Flash Drive? To resize or remove a secure partition, you will need to do the following:
  • Open the Flash Manager software on your hard drive
  • Choose Create a partition
  • Move the slider to zero (0)
Why don't I see a drive letter for my Imation Swivel Flash Drive?

This problem occurs if you map a network drive to the first available drive letter following the drive letters for the local volumes and CD/DVD drives. When you install a new device or volume, a software called Mount Manager tries to assign drive letters to the new volumes. But since the software does not recognize mapped drive letters, it assigns the next available local drive letter to the new device. This causes a collision with the existing mapped network drive.
Since the problem is related to your Microsoft operating system, they are your best source for resolving this issue. For more information, click here.

I am a 14 year child i am having a imation pendrive in which half of the space is of password . i lost my password icon so what should i do?

What you have to do is reinstall the password secure software that was on your pen drive so you can access your secure files again.

You can find the applications for Imation's flash drives here:

http://www.imation.com/en-us/Support/Drivers--Downloads/USB-Flash-Drives-Software-and-Drivers1/USB-Flash-Drive-Software-and-Downloads/

Just download it, then run the file and make sure you have the drive plugged into the computer.

Make sure you download the software for the flash drive you have, since there are different models on that web site. For additional information contact Imation at 1-800-351-8186 or email them to techsupport@imation.com
