Possible bad motor. You would need to test voltage at the motor connections with a multi meter. If the voltage is correct, then the motor or start capacitor is bad. If the proper voltage is not correct, then you would need to look upline in the electrical system to find the problem

No. Sounds like you have software or electronic problems. You can have those boards rebuilt for $300 hundred dollars so if you need a new one, insist your technician send it in for a rebuild rather than replace it which will cost much more!

SOURCE: New pump overheats

Hi,
ICE is potential freeze condition warning. Should not relate to the pump issue.
Is your new motor same Amperage as old one?
Is the wet end(pump) on the new pump the same horse power as the one it replaced?
Lack of ventilation for the motor, or clogged motor vents.
Check for undersized wiring or poor electrical connections.
Check if your pump has a thermal overload, this safety mechanism will turn the motor off when it gets too hot. The pump should restart once it cools down.
Remove the intake plumbing and visually inspect the impeller, observe for impeller failure. Spin the impeller to see if it turns without impedance.

Before you inspect the pump turn of the power to avoid electrical shock!

Something seems to be wrong with my pump in my spa.

A loud, grinding, screaming, or screeching pump motor, will not show up on your Pumps Control Panel, with a fault code. Your bearings in the motor, are shot. And you will need to replace them, or the motor.
2nd possible problem - sorry : (
if nothing is displaying on your topside control panel, then your topside Control Panel appears to be bad, or the fuse that operates it has been blown. If there is a display in the readable part of the panel, but you have no access to make anything work, then you have some dead buttons, and once again you have a bad topside control panel.

My Jandy Link control panel model 8157 turns on spa by itsself. It is not programmed to do so. Its says low battery. Can thisbethe cause?

No. Make sure there are no programs for the spa. Double check this. I assume this is a pool/spa combination. If so, check the valve actuators at the pool equipment. Do this by manually turning on the pool with your Remote control unit. There should be no water disturbance in the spa. If so, your valve actuators need to be reset. There is a metal toggle switch on the back of each valve that you can switch to set the valves to pool or spa.

*********** board at the equipment may also be the culprit. Try resetting it by pressing the small recessed reset button on the front of the panel with the tip of a pencil or pen. If neither of these slove your problem you probably need a new mother board. They are very expensive. Check to see if yours is still under warranty. Your builder can tell you this or you can email or call Jandy with your model and serial number found on the back of the board. Good Luck

If you are SURE there is correct power up to the spa pack you need to check to see that the topside control is plugged into the board.
if it is plugged in, it is either the 24volt transformer supplying the topside control, or the topside control is failed.
Did you hook up the hot tub?
Most common cause of topside complete failure is connecting to an improper power supply. This will immediately fry the transformer, and also maybe the topside control. It you are luck there would be a small 2 amp fuse next to the transformer.
If the whole board is without power, but you know power is going into it, it could be the main 50 amp fuse, which is usually white and about 1.25" long

Panel reads HHO-----, no temperature display until activate jets, then shows a temperature drop sometimes down to 65 degrees ,then starts heating upwith jets going

"OH" is an overheat error. In normal function, it is used as a safety shut off if the spa water temperature reaches over 110 degrees in the event of a thermostat failure. But more commonly, (if the water temp hasn't gotten too hot) it indicates that the temp sensor(s) have failed. If you have a digital display on the topside controller of your spa, then it is a circuit board controlled spa pack. Most spa builders use the same control pack manufacturer - Balboa Watergroup. The sensor kit usually consists of 2 probes and wires that plug directly onto the circuit board. Depending on the spa, they could both be located onto the heater manifold, or one on the manifold and one mounted to the tub making direct contact with the water via a thru-wall sensor mount. If I knew the spa manufacturer, I could further assist you. If you replace the sensors, and encounter the same problem... then the circuit board is bad, and usually a costly replacement. The sensors are usually listed as a "BA sensor assy" Hope this helps you,

How do I stop the spa from starting up and switching the heater on after a power cut?. Pump 1 will run the first time switched on,but if switched on again, it sometimes just stops and wont start for some...

It's not possible to stop the spa from starting up after a power loss. Most spas go through a self test then try to reach the last set temperature. Pump 1 usually runs the filter/heater, once it's activated it should run for 20min or until you turn it off. The high speed on pump 1 should always work. One problem with the pump may be that it's heating up and the internal high limit won't let it turn on. When you shut the pump off, the motor gets even hotter for a period of time since the fan is not turning, it may be getting hot enough to trip the internal high limit so that it won't turn on until the motor cools down. It won't turn on even if the topside control indicated that it should be on.
