Question about Heating & Cooling
Could you tell me why or what to do to prevent my Energy Knight A/C (Model B-HMC24AS, Serial # 505KATMOOOO9) from intermittently dripping water on the inside of the unit-inside my home, onto the painted wall, over the electrical outlet and then onto the carpet. The company who sold it to us, charges a lot to "fix" it, which means gets it to stop dripping while he is there, and then leaves for it to only drip again with no reason. As you can imagine this is very frustrating, damaging and unsafe. Thanks for any suggestions you may have to offer. thanks dar

I am not en expert at RV A/C units. I have worked on a couple before. There should be a reservoir somewhere under the evaporator coil(looks kind of like a radiator in a car but much smaller). It should have a hose or something to drain it away from the a/c unit. These very often become plugged on any kind of A/C unit. However if you choose to do this on your own, you will have to climb on top of the RV and remove the cover from the a/c unit to do this. It might be safer to take it to an RV repair shop.

Is this a newly installed unit? The problem sounds like the sleeve is improperly installed. The sleeve should slope approximately 1/4 inch downward from inside to outside. This way the water will run to the back of the pan where it will be picked up by the slinger fan, or drain to the outside. Most likely this is the cause, not the styrofoam pan. If you need further info, you can contact me at greg.mcnary(at)airdistributors.com (replace (at) with @) and I can get you detailed installation instructions.

SOURCE: Ice maker won't stop dripping
The ice maker can on hard water lime up to the point that the water will wick out a bit just after filling. The Ice maker needs to be cleaned or replaced.

Open the cover. In the bottom drip pan, there is a hole that is clogged. Just unplug it and it will drain.
