SOURCE: Sharp AF-S125FX air conditionaer doesn't work when I plug it in

Sounds like there is something grounded inside the A/C unit or a fan or the compressor locked up. Could also be a motor winding in the compressor or one of the fans shorted thru.

SOURCE: We need a replacement filter

Karen, even though your model has been discontinued, you can still get a washable filter replacement for you AC Unit. Most hardware stores and home improvement stores sell a washable, mesh filter kit, that can be cut to size to fit your unit and hundreds of others. You'll probably have enough left over to make two filters, if necessary

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

How do I reconnect the wires to the control board?

Your machine might be in need of cleaning or it may be out of program (someone might have changed the program). Try to reinstall your programs and see if that will work. Unfortunally I can not send you the manual.

Whirlpool Dryer Various Test Procedures - Part 1

TEST #1 Supply Connections
This test should only be done after confirming proper voltage at the outlet.
1. Unplug dryer or disconnect power.
2. Remove the cover plate from the back of the dryer.
3. Check that the power cord is firmly connected to the dryer’s wire harness.
4. Access the machine control electronics without disconnecting any wiring to the control board.
5. With an ohmmeter, check for continuity between the neutral (N) terminal of the plug and P8-3 (white wire) on the machine control board. If there is continuity, go to step 6. If there is no continuity, disconnect the white wire of the harness from the power cord. Test the continuity of the power cord neutral wire . If an open circuit is found,
replace the power cord. Otherwise, go to step 6.
6. In a similar way, check the continuity between the L1 terminal of the plug and P9- 2 (black wire) on the control board. If there is continuity, go to step 8. If there is no continuity, check the continuity of the power cord for power cord’s L1 wire. If an open circuit is found, replace the power cord. Otherwise, go to step 7.
7. Replace the main harness.
8. Visually check that the P5 connector is inserted all the way into the machine control electronics.
9. Visually check that the user interface assembly is properly inserted into the front console.
10. If both visual checks pass, replace the user interface assembly.
11. Plug in dryer or reconnect power.
12. Perform the Console Buttons and Indicators Diagnostic test to verify repair.
13. If indicators still do not light, the machine control electronics has failed: Unplug dryer or disconnect power.
Replace the machine control electronics. Plug in dryer or reconnect power. Perform the Console Buttons and Indicators Diagnostic test to verify repair.

TEST #2 Machine Control Power Check
This test is used to determine if power is present at the machine control electronics.
NOTE: The drum light is controlled by the machine control on all models.
1. Plug in dryer or reconnect power.
2. Open the door.If the drum light illuminates, then power is present at the machine control, and it is functional. Go to TEST #6. If the drum light fails to illuminate, do not assume the machine control electronics needs replacement. Several conditions may cause the drum light not to illuminate, including a bad bulb. If the drum light does not illuminate, go to TEST #1.

TEST #3 Drive Motor Circuit
This test will check the wiring to the motor and the motor itself. The following items are part of this motor system:
Harness/connection Belt/belt switch Drive motor Centrifugal switch Door switch Machine control electronics
1. Unplug dryer or disconnect power.
2. Access the machine control electronics and measure the resistance across P8-4 and P9-1.
If resistance across P8-4 and P9-1 is in the range of 1 to 6 ohms, replace the machine control electronics.
Otherwise, go to step 3.
3. Check the wiring and components in the path between these measurement points by referring to the appropriate wiring diagram and strip circuit in Section 7.
4. Check the belt switch and drive motor. Access the belt switch and drive motor by removing the front panel/drum assembly. Slowly remove the drum belt from the spring-loaded belt switch tension pulley, gently letting the belt pulley down.
5. Remove the white connector from the drive motor switch.
6. Check for the resistance values of the motor’s Main and Start winding coils. NOTE: Main and Start winding coils must be checked at the motor.WINDING RESISTANCE ω CONTACT POINTS OF MEASUREMENT
MAIN 1.4–2.6 Blue wire in back at pin 4 and bare copper wire on pin 5 of black drive motor switch
START 1.4–2.8 Blue wire in back at pin 4 and bare copper wire on pin 3 of black drive motor switch. If the resistance at the motor is correct, there is an open circuit between the motor and machine control electronics.
Check for failed belt switch. If the Start winding resistance is much greater than 4 ohms, replace the motor.
7. Check the belt switch by measuring resistance between the two blue wires while pushing up the belt switch tension pulley. If the resistance reading goes from infinity to a few ohms as pulley arm closes the switch, belt switch is OK. If not, replace the belt switch. If belt switch is OK and there is still an open circuit, check and repair the wiring harness.
8. Door switch problems can be uncovered in the Door Switch Diagnostic Test; however, if this was not done, the following can be done without applying power to the dryer. Connect an ohmmeter across P8-3 (neutral, white wire) and P8-4 (door, tan wire). With the door properly closed, the ohmmeter should indicate a closed circuit
(0–2 ohms). If not, replace the door switch assembly.

Dell Dimension 2400 PC Desktop how to wire

Industry standard PC, XT, AT, and LPX motherboards use the same type of main power supply connectors. They use two main power connectors: P8 and P9. Each of the P8 and P9 connectors has 6 pins that connect power supply to the motherboard.

Presario 6000 desktop wont power up after transporting. Opened cover & I have loose wires that may be the problem. The loose wires are labeled p9 &p7.

Unfortunately, I do not know P9 and P7. Can you tell me if they are multiple colored wires going into a header/connector? If they are single wires or thin wires you may be able to look at your header of wires which connect the pwr button, rst switch, power led, speaker ( 4 pin thin connector ) if p9 and p7 came off here they could be your power switch.

No blue power light and doesnt turn all the way on no starting beep gateway gt5220

I would suspect a bad power supply. Before doing anything make sure power is actually getting to the computer. Check the power cord with a volt meter. You should have around 115 volts. If all is well you need to see if the power supply is putting out the correct voltage. Open the PC up and set the multimeter to DC voltage.
  1. Turn off the PC, but do not unplug it. Open the system unit. Set the multimeter to read DC volts in the next range higher than 12 volts. Locate a power connector similar to the hard drive (or CD-ROM drive connector that is unused) and turn on the PC.
  2. You can also unplug a drive connector and use it. Turn on the PC and insert the BLACK probe into the power connector on one of the BLACK wires. Touch the RED probe to the YELLOW wire on the power connector.
  3. The multimeter reading should be +12 volts. Now touch the RED probe to the RED wire and the reading should be +5 volts. If no readings or different readings occurred, you’ll have to replace the power supply. If the readings were correct, you should check the P8 or P9 connectors at the motherboard. These connectors may also be named P4 and P5. To check these connectors, perform the following:
    • Insert the BLACK probe into P8 at one of the BLACK wires. Insert the RED probe into the P8 connector at the RED wire. The reading on the multimeter should be +5 volts.
    • Check the power going to the motherboard connections by inserting the RED probe into P8 at the YELLOW wire and you should get +12 volts. Leave the BLACK wire touching the BLACK wire at the P8 connector. Check the BLUE wire and the reading should be a -12 volts.
    • Now move the BLACK probe to the BLACK wire on the P9 connector. Test the WHITE wire by inserting the RED probe and the reading should be -5 volts. Check the RED wires on the P9 connector and you should get +5 volts on each red wire. You won’t get exactly 5 or 12 volts, but the readings will be very close, such as 5.02 volts.
    • If the Power Supply is a couple of volts off in either direction, such as when the RED wire should be reading -5 volts but it reads -8 volts, or if there are no readings, replace the power supply. Curtorsey: IT Professionals

Mains wire at back of fridge has come out how do i re-wire it

Hi, are you saying that the main power cord has been pulled loose from all connections? Has any componants come along with it? Wiring a power cord is fairly an easy task if you are familar some what with wire colors for a 120 volt power cord. You should be able to take a good look at where it has come apart and reconnect the cord with wire connectors, as Hot would be black to black, and white is nuetral, so white to white and green for ground to the appliance. Now, If you have accidently pulled out the wiring from the compressor terminals, as the start, run, and common terminal, I need to no this to quide you through this, as there is also a overload relay that is wired through the common terminal to protect the compressor against an overload. Please get back to me if this has happened.
Sincerely,
Shastalaker7

Power supply suddenly 'dead'

You check the power supply using multimeter. but before everything make sure the you are getting power from the power outlet.

Here is how you can check the power supply with multimeter

If the wall outlet and the power cord are good, make sure the connection at the motherboard is secure. Then you may have to face the fact that the power supply itself is bad. If you have a multimeter, you can test the power supply output before purchasing a new one. Simply follow these steps:
