If spark is ok then I would say the carburetor is the likely problem or the fuel is not entering the engine. Something like the following instructions might help.

How to remove carb on 350 husqvarna chain saw

Remove the air box cover and remove the air filter. You will see 2 screws going into the carburetor. These 2 screws hold the carburetor onto the saw. You must use care (and take a couple pictures) to see how the linkage fits back onto the carburetor. You will also see the choke and kill button on the left hand side. Take you time and you should be fine. The throttle linkage is the hard part.

My husqvarna 51 will not idle after cylinder replacement

Did it receive a new piston and rings at the same time? Is the carburetor firmly mounted to the cylinder? Check for muffler plugging. Did you make any adjustments to the carburetor jets? Try turning the idle-speed-screw CW a turn or two. Are you running fresh fuel mix? If the ignition module was removed, set the pole gap with a thin business card and have the magnets under the pole pieces. Hope some of this helps!

Husqvarna 51 chainsaw wil start up and run as long as I keep givig it gas but as soon as I let go of the trigger it dies. I tried turning the idle up but it does not make a difference. It was very recently...

First, check the fuel lines for cracks/breaks.

If they are o.k.,then you will need to disassemble the carburetor again and spray with carb.cleaner. Make sure the small screen in the carb. is free of debris. Usea Den Tek Brush, (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152), to clean the small portals in carb. These portals can become blocked. Reassemble and start.

If you need further assistance, just let me know.

Husqvarna 51 chainsaw will barely run, magnito and carberator ok

Probably need to re-adjust the carburetor jets. They are very small screws in the base of the carburetor. They will be labeled with an "H" and an "L" . Set the low speed first by turning it in slowly until the rpm drops slightly then start turning it outward untill the engine idles smoothly. At that point you can also adjust idle speed. Then you need to be careful here but you need to hold the throttle wide open at the same time adjusting the high speed jet. Turn it in until the rpm drops then slowly turn it out. The rpm will keep increasing. Once you get to a point where it is max'ed out then screw the jet back in one half a turn. Changes in altitude like using your chainsaw in town versus going to the mountains for firewood can sometimes make it necessary to adjust the fuel/air ratio.
