I had that same problem with my CX5800F. I tried it in several working outlets and shut down/started up many times. Tech support couldn't figure it out so they had me sent it back for a replacement. Several days later, before I packaged it up for shipment, I decided to test it out one more time, and it powered on! I sent for a replacement anyways. Since it's still under the 1-warranty, I'd suggest sending it back for a new one if all else fails. Good luck!
The scanner cover is on one set of hinges. Below the scanner bed, you can lift the front edge and the scanner bed will lift up on another set of hinges. Do not attempt to manually position the ink cartridge holder to replace individual cartridges, but follow the instructions from the print dialogue box, under Epson Printer Utility and Epson StatusMonitor.
