SOURCE: belt on my kenmore 70 series washing machine

Your washer should be a direct drive unit, it has no belt. If you hear the motor running but nothing is happening you probably have a broken motor coupler. The coupler is about $10.

Pop off the trim pieces on each end of the console.
Remove the two screws that hold the console to the cabinet and flip the console back.
Remove the two clips that hold the cabinet to the rear panel of the washer and unplug the lid switch harness. The cabinet will tilt forward and slide off.
Remove the clips holding the water pump and move it to the side.
Unplug the wires from the motor and remove the clips holding it.
You will see the motor coupler.
Make sure you can turn the gearcase shaft with a pair of pliers so it is not locked up.
Post back and let me know what you find or if you need any help.

Did you clean the mesh screen filter in the end of the hose where it connects to the valve. It can stop up with sediment.

I have a kenmore 70 series heavy duty 110 96573230. It doesn't heat up. Can't find where the thermal fuse. Where is it located? Do I need to unscrew the back?

Yes, you need to take it all apart. ( Including the back.)
All of the things that can cause your problem are in the back and the bottom of your machine.
There are actually about 3 to 7 things that can cause "no heat".
Not only the "thermal fuse", but also the heating element, and any of the "overheat thermostat switches" can have failed, beside the possibility there is a wire has burned in two.
You will need a testing instrument like a multi-meter or a volt-ohm meter to check all these out.
Be blessed.

Compaq presario CQ61 is making a vibrating noise. it is constant

Two things,
1) Check if you have a CD/DVD in the disk-drive and remove it. The spinning disk is causing the vibration

2) Go to START > Control panel > PERFORMANCE AND MAINTENANCE > POWER OPTIONS >

In the middle of the dialog box, you should see a box that says "Turn off hard disks".
There you can select "After 3 minutes" or "After 5 minutes". This will turn off another spinning/vibrating thing if you have an issue with imbalance there.

3) Make sure you are not blocking the vent holes on the bottom of your laptop so air can get through and it doesn't overheat. The last spinning thing on your laptop is the cooling fan. This only comes on when it is hot. If you are doing a lot of calculations or heavy-duty computing will also make it hot but this is very rare (I guess some games can also be considered heavy-duty computing and cause overheating). If you are doing heavy-duty computing, there is nothing that can be done about he vibration of the cooling fan.

Good luck

We have a Kenmore 70 series washer. Lots of vibration when spinning yet the tub really doesn't appear to be out of balance. (i held the switch closed with the lid open). Also we are getting some leakage...

Check the Vibration damper rods to be sure that...
1. They are there and mount is solid.
2. If they are broken in 1/2.
3. The plastic knuckle mounts are not missing/broken.
4. There is oil in the shock absorber/spring section of the rods.

Also - there are suspension springs on the bottom of the tub that could be broken and/or missing.

Replace/repair as necessary.

Steering wheel & inside vibration issues

Yes...That's probably a 50 or 55 series tire which by the nature of it's short sidewall will give you a "stiff" ride as compared to a more typical 70 series. Verify that the vibration does not come only when you are braking or accelerating. If you vibrate only when cruising then 95%(unofficial stat) of the time it comes from the tire/wheel/balance assembly.
