When the switch went bad on my TB190BV I was able to cut the
wires at the terminals and re-solder to the other side of the switch. There are free terminal on the opposite side
of the switch from the factory connections.
Make sure to mark all of the wires and reattach to the free terminals (You have to turn the switch 180 degrees, so
you're soldering in the opposite order from the original orientation!) If you are not sure, with the motor unplugged from any power, check the pairs of terminals
with a multi-meter set on ohms. The
pairs with the highest ohms (highest resistance) is the off position, the pairs
with the second highest ohms is low power setting and the lowest ohms is the
high power setting. Before
you cut the original terminals you may want to do this test to see if the current
terminals are bad. If the ohms are high
on all settings then the switch is bad.
