You need to cnnect it to a swicthed power source. They are located on the fuse bank, look for the radio fuse and tap off of that. It will not power off with the key if it is connected directly to the batery. It will however power off if it is connected to a key switched source.

Car wont start / no power

Turn your lights on. If they don't come on get a jump to start and check voltage at battery when running. It should read 14+V. If you have a charged battery, then the starter/starter connections as well as the battery connections should be checked and should be tight (no movement on the battery connections).
hope this helps.

How do I fix the clock display on my 1999 Pontiac Sunfire?

It appears to be that the radio clock display has malfunctioned, and is due for a replacement radio, which could be an aftermarket or oem radio, maybe found at a junk yard.

Tools required for oem replacement radio, torx keys set.

Before working on the radio or other electronics, disconnect the battery cables with 8mm wrench.

Replacing the oem radio is much easier, if you obtain oem radio, compared to aftermarket radio, due to being direct fit.

The radio is same for 1995 to 1999 Pontiac Sunfire and the Chevy Cavalier, regardless of sub models, such as SE,GT, VL,VLX,Z24. etc.

Parts needed for the the aftermarket radio install :Stereo assembly, stereo wiring harness adapter, radio antenna adapter, and dash install kit.wiring diagram for the wire colors / functions, along with tools, such as torx key set, screwdrivers, wire crimper, wire stripper, double ended wiring connectors, hair dryer.

The oem stereo removal video is for the 2000 to 2005 Sunfire / Cavalier, but are the same or very similar procedures.

hi this sounds like you have connected the permanent live wire to an auxiliary wire, ie, what ever the power source you have connected it to, only works until the vehicle has started, then the power is stopped, sorta like.. say, the starter motor, it only uses the power when it is needed then when it is running it shuts the power off, just like the lights on the dash ect ect, your best bet would be to find a permanent live from the battery supply...hope this helps

I need to know how to wire the power cables and other wires to the amp and then to the subwoofer plz can you help me nath

hey dennis if you have a standard car amplifier all you need to do is run a wire from the battery post straight from the battery to amp batt+ post, then negative side can also be run straight from battery negative, than the remote post on your amp. you can either utilize the power antenae circuit coming out of the stereo unit or an ignition power from your ignition power fuse box so you don't draw battery power when key is off, please reply back if your stereo unit has rca output and does your amp. have rca connection(rca connections are red and white audio cable style connection).

1995 Chevy G30 - No electricity at all, won't start.

I'm not familiar with your type of vehicle, but:-

Look for a 'fusible wire link' that may be down near the starter motor battry power connection cable. If fused, it will be melted.

Most vehicles hase either a fusible link or a high power fuse in between the battery output and the main vehicle distribution power bus.

Stereo amp power supply

No I wouldn't share the amp feed. It should be stand alone, with its own fuse.

Yes it is wise to connect directly to the battery, hence through the firewall.

You should purchase an amp wiring kit, matched to the
watts of the amp. It has everything you need to correctly make all of the connections.

Good luck
