SOURCE: whirlpool gd5thgxks01 door does not auto close

You need to level the refrigerator slightly backwards so the weight of the door closes it automatically. The front legs are adjustable, so just turn them until the door closes on its own.

How do you dry clothes in this machine please

A fairly common problem! The official instructions are

Before using your dryer, wipe the dryer drum with a damp cloth to
remove dust from storing and shipping.
1. Load clothes loosely into the dryer and close the door. Do not
pack the dryer. Allow space for clothes to tumble freely.
2. Turn the Cycle Control knob to the recommended cycle for the type of load being dried. Use the Energy Preferred Automatic Setting (,) to dry most heavyweight and medium weight loads. See "Drying, Cycle, and Temperature Tips."
3. Select a temperature setting on models with a Temp/Fabric selector. The cycle descriptions include temperature setting suggestions.
4. Push the START button.

Stopping and Restarting
You can stop your dryer any time during a cycle.
To stop your dryer
Open the dryer door or turn the Cycle Control knob to OFE
NOTE: The Cycle Control knob should point to an Off area when
the dryer is not in use.
To restart your dryer
1. Close the door.
2. Select a new cycle and temperature (if desired).
3. Press START

Will not start

This is hard to diagnose without tools. The first thing to do is check the breaker for it. See if it has tripped. If it has not then turn the dial to a setting and close the door and put your ear right on the knob to see if you can hear anything that sounds like a small electric motor.
If you hear that then there is power to the unit. If not then you need to pull the unit out and get some test equipment to see if it is the power, siwtch, motor, latch etc.

The touch bottons are clicking on and off and nothing works. I had to shut the washer off in a hurry recently and this is the result.

Make sure the door is completely closed and latched. On models with a dual-digit display, the control displays "- -" during a cycle if it believes the door is not latched. Check for obstructions (spoons, etc), interfering with the door operation. A lower dish rack that is installed backward will also cause incomplete door closure. Is there power to the dishwasher Check your household electrical box to see if a fuse has blown or if the circuit breaker has tripped. If the unit has a plug-in power cord, make sure it is plugged in.Does your dishwasher have a rotary timer knob? (Some Models)The cycle selection must match the position of the timer knob. Turn the timer knob to the beginning of the preferred cycle. The timer knob should click when you reach the start of the cycle. Is the control lock option activated?Press and hold the Heated Dry option (button with lock icon) for three to five seconds and the light should turn off. Instructions are also placed on the label on top of the inner door to unlock the controls. Is the delay start option activated? To cancel the delay and cycle, press Cancel/Drain.Has the motor stopped for less than 10 minutes?
The motor may have stopped due to an overload. If this is the case, the motor will automatically reset itself within 5-10 minutes. Is the Start/Resume indicator flashing?Opening the door or interrupting the power can stop the cycle. Close the door and press Start/Resume. If the Start/Resume indicator flashes three times when you press Start/Resume, the dishwasher is waiting for you to open the door after the last cycle. Open and close the door, and then press Start/Resume.On models where the controls are on top of the door be sure to close the door within 3 seconds of pressing the Start/Resume to start or resume the dishwasher cycle. Is the water shutoff valve (if installed) turned on?Make sure that the water shutoff valve is turned on

Dryer not working

How do you know the belt is on? Did you take the unit apart? Maybe a connection to the control knob came off. Otherwise:

1) Check the breaker to see if it has been tripped
2) Dryer plugged in
3) dryer door securly closed
4) if your unit is a single knob with various dryer settings, try a different setting (delicate, permanent press, etc)
5) if your unit has a start button, set the knob to the desired setting first, then press start.

The dryer has power but the start cycle knob only buzzes

IF THIS MODEL USES THE TIMER TO START THE MACHINE BY PULLING OUT ON THE KNOB, I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE QUITE A FEW TIMERS FOR THIS PROBLEM. SOMETIMES BY MOVING THE KNOB UP AND DOWN AND SIDE TO SIDE WHILE PULLING WILL START THE MACHINE. IF SO, REPLACE TIMER.
