Check the air flow to make sure that it is ok. See if there are any obstructions in the duct work. Technically you should take the temp of the air coming out of the machine.

Whirlpool electric dryer model WED5100VQ1 Dryer won't heat and timer dial won't move once it's set on desired dry time. Are these related? Any ideas?

For anyone who may be interested (this post is a little dated). I just diagnosed one of these machines today. Dryer runs with no heat. First thing if you don't have an ohm meter get one and learn how to use it (easy). Check for 220 (240) volts at receptacle then ohm your element then check your thermal cut off( at top of element housing, if these check out good then the timer is the likely culprit ( what I found today). There is a schematic inside the console that shows you what to check.
God bless.

When using Power Saver, should speed be Low or Auto

Hello Gkittels The slowest/low speed will save the most energy and cost less. But see if that setting will still get the job done you might need more on hot days.
