Don't listen to them, they are talking rubbish. The amount of RAM in your computer will not affect your networking (Wi-Fi or otherwise). You should check your passwords and that your computer is up to date with regards to your operating system(Windows) Then check that your WiFi drivers are installed and that the wifi is "enabled".
