Hi, assuming the rest of the drives are working there are three probable issues.
1. The cabling for power or data is loose or faulty, check the cabling, remove and reseat it, then try again with new data cable and swap power connectors with one of the other drives. If the results do not vary it's not the cables, If the problem moves with the data cable but is not resolved by replacing the cable it is the logic board at fault.
2. Try cleaning the drive, do not use brush cleaners as they can damage the head, just used a compressed gas can or air compressor on less than 20lbs/in, if this does not work...
3. The second drive may be faulty, check with the manufacturer/manual. Many of these devices require a specific model or one of only a few models for compatibility, replac with an appropriate model.
Hope this helps FixYa,

May I suggerst you reseat all internal connections on your drive? (Power, IDE or what ever) Make sure you are grounded to the case while you do this and you have the power cord disconencted from the wall.
Close up everything and re-connect all the stuff you disconencted.
After you do that, remove the device via the device manager.
Reboot - let windows refind the device. Have the driver CD ready if applicable.
Let me know what happens.

SOURCE: accutower duplicator
If your Accutower says Source Drive Not Ready, it means the tower is not recognizing the original disc that you want to make the copy of. Make sure the master disc is good by testing it on a different computer from the one you burned it on. Also, check that you have the source drive set correctly on the tower. Good luck!

whatever software you are using to burn dvd;s, make sure the right burner drive is selected. if it is selected properly and still having an issue. that means the dvd writer is busted and can't detect a blank disc place into it. in that case, have it replaced.

SOURCE: getting an error message
Sounds to me like the sychronization got stuck, on the laser and its not going back to start. unfortunatly it's hard to fix but more than not it got dirt in it. if you open it, try vacuuming it out first with a small pait brush but don't force anything then you can rise it with a slight mist of Lysol, yea! works great and wont short out if used sparingly. good luck!
