Question about Sharp AQUOS LC-40LE830U 40" LCD LED HDTV
I have a sharp I've been playing my playstation 3 on for years. I unplugged it from the HD ports to try and play it on something else; however, when I tried to plug it back into the TV none of the HDMI ports work. I tried sever other items and none of them work on HD, so I know it's the TV no the playstation. The regular video still works though

First off a little tip that manufacturers don't tell you is that you HAVE to TURN OFF the POWER to ANY UNITS that you are Connecting to via HDMI!!!!!!! If not you can short out the Inputs!!!!!!!! HDMI is usually Automatic, But sometimes you need to go into the Menus on all Devices to the HDMI section and write down their settings and compare them. Any definition that you are not sure of check the Manual or Google it! Match all the Settings (there won't be Much!) Hopefully the Inputs were not Damaged it only takes one time to short it out and then the Repairman makes a few bucks! Good Luck!

Testimonial: "worked like a charm thank you so much, i was about to throw in the towel and get a new tv, now i don't have to thanks again"
There are a number of things to check here:
1) Verify that the resolution on the PC is set to a supported level for the TV. Usually the TV will show "no signal" if the resolution is out of range or the message "out of range" will appear.
2) You don't indicate whether you are connecting to a desktop or laptop. If a laptop, you may need to turn on the external monitor. This is done by using the function key and either F5 or F6 (the key should have a picture of a screen on it). Hitting this combination will toggle between the main screen with.without the external monitor.
3) Verify that the TV port is selected correctly (AV1,AV2 etc)
4) You will need a separate cable or the audio regardless of the system type. Also verify that the audio cable is in the corresponding audio input jacks for the video option selected.
If you have completed the above and it still doesn't work, please post the details about the computer being used and the exact cable setup that you have and I'll check into this further.
