Before I signed on here i found that jassin88 gave a solution and it worked for me. After trying what steve18822 gave and didn't work I got the toilet coiled up under the sink which does not get much use, but I am keeping it around for this problem of getting rags and socks sucked up half way up the hose of electrolux sweeper, It worked!!

Disconnect the hose from the canister and connect it to the blower end of the canister and this should blow out the debris or rag stuck in the hose.

Thank you fggmplus for a great solution that is so obvious, yet was so oblivious to me. I took it to a vacuum store of good reputation. They fixed it promptly and charged less than $20. Mostly they did just what you recommended.

I tried this also, didn't work. It was too tight in the hose. It was the first thing I tried.

My Dirt Devil Reaction vacuum cleaner has a plugged hose.

Hi! A broom stick or something similar is probably the best tool you can use to remove a clog. Try pushing the broomstick in an up and down motion gently against the clog until it starts to loosen and slide out. If you are unable to remove the clog the hose can be replaced. I have included a link where you may go to purchase a replacement hose if needed. Good luck!

Vacuum is clogged

Without specifics of Model, I can't tell you how. There are no clog ports in Dirt Devil vacuums. Usually a hose has to be removed to unclog.

I have kenmore progressive and it is clogs is there a way to unclog it

The easiest way we unclog this machine is to take another canister vacuum and use its' hose to put on the hose of your machine then switch it on and **** the clog out of your machine. Works great.

I have a Electrolux Epic 6500 SR canister vacum cleaner. It is nine years old and for the past few weeks it has started shutting off for no apparent reason. The symbol for bag change lights up and it cuts...

Your machine is probably clogged, look through the wands, look in the bottom attachment, to see if there is anything stuck there. You can also drop a marble through the hose itself to see if anything is stuck there as well. To unclog the hose try holding the attachment end of the hose were you would normally plug the hose in. ( the goal is to **** the clog out the way it came in).

Does not have the same suction as when we first purchase the vaccuum. it is only 2 years old. We cleand the round filter at the bottom of canister. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you have a clog in the hose or from brush to the hose. To clrar turn vacume over and remove bottom cover to unclog where it meats the hose. I would use a coat hanger to unclog the hose.

Eureka 12 amp vaccum lost all suction how do I fix this?

There must be a clog somewhere in the line. I don't know this model, but if it has a hose, disconnect it and see if the machine has suction. If yes, then you know hose is clogged. If you don't hace hose, then you can try to take apart the air intake to unclog it. It is also possible that the motor runs, but the impeller on the motor is loose and is not spinning to create the suction. I would try checking and cleaning any clog first. Good luck!
