SOURCE: my ford 6600 tractor has white smoke white comes

If you have white smoke it is a head gasket or water jacket. If their is no water in the oil on the dip stick tube and you can crack the oil drain plug and don't get water coming out then it is most likely a intake gasket thats leaking. You did not mention if it was a L head or H head that Marks a difference on where the water can leak.yo could have a bad head gasket and have water leaking into one cylinder, to test this go to a tractor shop or truck shop and buy a grease pencil that is heat sensitive mark each exhaust pipe with the pen then start the engine if you have one cylinder that the grease does not melt that will tell you that that cylinder has an issue, cold be a injector copper a head gasket or broken head bolt this will give you an ideal of what your up against and how much you are going to have to spend before you get a lot of money into it.If you need more help just post to tis answer and thanks for using fix-ya.

Head bolt torque specs needed for 96 tbird 3.8

Head bolts are torque to yeild so you MUST use new bolts.
Tighten cylinder head retaining bolts in numerical sequence in three steps as follows:
  1. 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
  1. 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
  1. 50 Nm (37 lb-ft)
Loosen retaining bolts one at a time two to three revolutions and retighten as follows:

Long bolts:
  • Tighten to 40-50 Nm (30-37 lb-ft).
  • Rotate an additional 175-185 degrees.
  • Go to next bolt in sequence.
Short Bolts:
  • Tighten to 20-30 Nm (15-22 lb-ft).
  • Rotate an additional 175-185 degrees.
  • Go to next bolt in sequence.
Here is a pic of the sequence
