Thomson DV2137 DVD Player reset

DVD has accidentally been set to YUP+ instead of PAL now we can't see anything only flashes across the screen. Unfortunately this also includes the setup menu. Does anyone know how to reset this back to factory default?

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: How to reset my Denon DN-V210 DVD Player to factory default?

Hi Jason,
I have just bought this unit and have been using the menu recently. The only ways i can see to do it would be to either, (as you say) plug it into a HDTV, or navigate the menu blind and hope for the best.
If you press SETUP on your remote once to get to the menu setup screen and then push the RIGHT navigation button 3 times this should take you to the system setup screen. Then push the DOWN navigation button 4 times and then push ENTER. At this point it asks you for a 4 digit password to reset the unit which is a factory preset, 5555, so type that in. This should then reset the DVD player to factory settings.
Hope it helps,
Nick

Thompson dvd player unlock code dv2137

Just bought THOMSON DV2137 in Australia (region 4) It plays Aus but not US. A small slip in the user's manual gave these (verbatim) instructions. UNFORTUNATELY it isn't working on my player."This unit has been set to play region 4 DVD discs. If you wish to use this unit outside of region 4 territory you can change the region setting by following the instructions below.1) Turn on the unit.2) Remove disc and press SETUP to enter SETUP menu.3) Press VOL+.VOL-,VOL+,VOL-, by order, then press MUTE to enter Region Code setting. [stays in SETUP menu]4) Press LEFT / RIGHT to choose between 1-4 or ALL region."
Perhaps this will work for someone else or will trigger a clue.

This is a silly question, but our JVC DVD Player started playing only in Black/White, so I went into the Display menu trying to fix that problem, and instead mistakenly changed the resolution of the screen...

if you have a modern tv you could change the format (pal, ntsc) on the tv and then on the dvd. I have set my dvd player and tv to auto, they are both newer models.

Initially had trouble with sound. then went into set up menu. while in clicked on video and accidentally change to PAL which give continous screen rolover and can't get out of it. Help

Look for a "reset" selection to reset the machine to the factory defaults. Try connecting the player to a computer monitor and try to access the setup menu.

Nextech N600 DVD player problem

You may have connected one of the component outputs (usually colored red, green, and blue) of your DVD player to the composite input of your TV. Connect yellow to yellow. See section 3.2 for hookup details. Also, if you've hooked up component video, check the three cables to make sure one of them hasn't become disconnected or developed a short and that they are connected in the correct order. If you use an s-video connection, the chroma wire maybe broken -- try a different cable or try the composite connection.
If you live in a PAL country (most countries outside of the U.S., Canada, and Japan) you may be playing an NTSC disc in a PAL player, but your PAL TV can't handle the signal. If your player has a switch or on-screen setting to select the output format for NTSC discs, choosing PAL (60 Hz) should solve the problem. See section 1.19 for more information.

How to reset dvd recorder to ntsc from pal

After checking today to see no one offered any suggestions - I solved the problem the hard way - I went into settings and although the screen rolled, I was finally able to click onto the ntsc setting after about a half hour of tries and once I clicked it, my screen returned to normal -- i was then able to enter the code that made the player an all region player and was happily able to play a pal dvd I received recently. The procedure was simple -- offered by a European Cyberhome user -- the company is in bankruptcy so you cannot gt help from them. Note - my Cyberhome dvr is 1500- not 1600 as you listed it.
